NE Patras
NE Patras (NEP), Nautical Union of Patras (Ναυταθλητική Ένωση Πατρών), is a water polo and swimming club situated in Patras, Greece. History NEP was founded in 2006 in Patras, Western Greece with the unification of two nautical clubs of the city: Thriamvos Patras (founded in 1976) and Poseidon Patras (founded in 1982). The club is today participating in the Second Division/A2 Ethniki of the Greek Championship of men. Womens participating in the first division of greek championship of women. . Antonios Pepanos
Antonios Pepanos ( el, Αντώνιος Πέπανος, 1866 - 1918) was a Greek swimmer. He was a member of Gymnastiki Etaireia Patron, which merged with Panachaikos Gymnastikos Syllogos in 1923 to become Panachaiki Gymnastiki Enosi. He won the silver medal in the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens. Before the Olympics, Pepanos was hesitating about taking part because he was already thirty years old and past his prime. Finally, even though he was suffering from a cold on the day of the event, he competed in the 500 metres freestyle. He finished second with a time of 9:57.6. The winner, Austrian Paul Neumann, had finished in 8:12.6. Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. Thriamvos Patras
Thriamvos Patras (Greek: ΑΟ Θρίαμβος Πατρών) was founded in 1991 and had athletic clubs including water polo, swimming, synchronized diving, basketball, chess and ping pong.
