Next ( ; Hangul: 넥스트 ; stylized as NEXT) is a Chinese boy group signed to Yuehua Entertainment. The group consists of five members: Zhu Zhengting, Bi Wenjun, Huang Xinchun, Fan Chengcheng, and Huang "Justin" Minghao. They debuted on June 21, 2018, with the song "Wait a Minute" and officially debuted as NEXT on November 8, 2019, with the song "WYTB". History Pre-debut Prior to debuting, members Zhu Zhengting and Justin took part in Korea's ''Produce 101'' and gained international attention. As Yuehua Entertainment trainees, all members competed in China's ''Idol Producer'', making it into the final project group Nine Percent. Fan Chengcheng
Fan Chengcheng (; born 16 June 2000) is a Chinese singer, rapper and actor. He is a former member of the Chinese boy group Nine Percent and a member of Yuehua's NEXT. Early life Fan was born on 16 June 2000 in Qingdao, Shandong. Career Fan Chengcheng participated in the Chinese boy band survival program '' Idol Producer'' aired from 19 January to 6 April 2018. He eventually placed 3rd in the final episode and debuted as a member of Nine Percent. While promoting with Nine Percent, before disbandment, Fan debuted as a member of Yuehua's new boy band NEX7 with the song "Wait a Minute" on 21 June 2018. On 23 June 2018, NEX7 held their first fan meeting in Beijing, China. Fan released his first digital single, titled "I'm Here" on 22 November 2018, and "Dumb Show" in December. Nine Percent (Chinese: 百分九少年; commonly stylized as NINE PERCENT) was a nine-member Chinese boy group formed by the survival show ''Idol Producer'' by iQIYI on April 6, 2018. The group was scheduled to promote for 18 months since formation. Nine Percent rocked the Chinese entertainment industry in the few months they existed, experiencing a truly meteoric rise in popularity in the short time since the group’s formation. Mandopop Musical Groups
Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; with later influences coming from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the Campus Song folk movement of the 1970s. 'Mandopop' may be used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin. Though Mandopop predates Cantopop, the English term was coined around 1980 after "Cantopop" became a popular term for describing popular songs in Cantonese. "Mandopop" was used to describe Mandarin-language popular songs of that time, some of which were versions of Cantopop songs sung by the same singers with different lyrics to suit the different rhyme and tonal patterns of Mandarin.
