Colo–NESCO Community School District is a rural public school district headquartered in Colo, Iowa. Its elementary school is in Zearing while the middle-high school and district headquarters are in Colo. The district is mostly in Story County with portions in Hardin and Marshall counties. The district serves Colo, Zearing, and McCallsburg. There is an agreement with the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Hunziker Career Center in Ames that allows Colo–NESCO High School students to take vocational courses there. National Electric Signaling Company
Reginald Aubrey Fessenden (October 6, 1866 – July 22, 1932) was a Canadian-born inventor, who did a majority of his work in the United States and also claimed U.S. citizenship through his American-born father. During his life he received hundreds of patents in various fields, most notably ones related to radio and sonar. Fessenden is best known for his pioneering work developing radio technology, including the foundations of amplitude modulation (AM) radio. His achievements included the first transmission of speech by radio (1900), and the first two-way radiotelegraphic communication across the Atlantic Ocean (1906). In 1932 he reported that, in late 1906, he also made the first radio broadcast of entertainment and music, although a lack of verifiable details has led to some doubts about this claim. Metal Ware Corporation is a company located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin and manufactures small kitchen appliances primarily marketing them under the NESCO and American Harvest brand names. History 1927-1940 Metal Ware Corporation was co-founded by Joseph Koenig, who also founded the Mirro Aluminum Company and William H Ellis II. Metal Ware filed for incorporation on August 18, 1920. The company was a successor to Two Rivers Plating which was founded by Henry Mixa in 1902. In October, 1920, property was purchased from Two River Plating and Manufacturing Company. The company's primary products were copper and nickel-plated utensils. The 1920s saw growth in the company with employment reaching 100 by 1927. National Enameling and Stamping Company is a historic factory complex located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It was constructed in 1887 to serve as the works of the Baltimore branch of the nation's largest tinware manufacturer, the National Enameling and Stamping Company (NESCO). The densely packed complex fills an almost site and consists of 17 interconnected buildings and one structure that vary in height from one to five stories. The complex was organized to house three primary functions in discrete sections: the manufacture of tinware, the manufacture of enameled and japanned wares, and storage, warehousing, and distribution. Kalpakkam is a township in Tamil Nadu, India, situated on the Coromandel Coast 70 kilometres south of Chennai. A conglomerate of two villages (Puduppattinam and Sadurangappatinam) and a DAE township, it is about from Thiruvanmiyur and from Pondicherry. This coastal town is humid. Nesco (also called New Columbia) is an unincorporated community in Mullica Township, Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. Nesco is located approximately east of Hammonton. The New Columbia-Nesco United Methodist Church is located there. The Nesco School is located west of the settlement. Demographics History A historic plaque is located at the Indian Cabin Mill Inn in Nesco, where fugitive Joe Mulliner—the "Robin Hood of the Pines"—surrendered to authorities. Mulliner had settled in nearby Pleasant Mills, but was forced to flee after remaining loyal to England in the Revolutionary War. Mulliner and 40 others formed a gang and hid on an island in the nearby Mullica River, from where they launched criminal attacks.
