North Carolina Highway 801 (NC 801) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The highway runs north–south, traversing the central Piedmont region of the state. Route description A two-lane rural highway, it traverses from Mooresville to U.S. Route 601 (US 601) near Farmington. It links several small towns and communities including Cooleemee, Advance, Farmington, and Bermuda Run. History NC 801 was first commissioned in 1927–28 as a short route traveling east–west from to NC 65 (now US 158) at the now-defunct town of Hillsdale. The route was extended south from its eastern terminus to connect with NC 90 (now US 64) by 1930, becoming a north–south route. In 1933, the route was extended again, from NC 90 southwest to Mooresville, replacing all of NC 803, which ran from US 601 south of Mocksville to NC 26 (now US 29) in Mooresville. Mooresville is a large town located in the southwestern section of Iredell County, North Carolina, United States, and is a part of the fast-growing Charlotte metropolitan area. The population was 50,193 at the 2020 United States Census making it the largest municipality in Iredell County. It is located approximately north of Charlotte. Hillsdale is an unincorporated community in Davie County, North Carolina, United States. It borders Bermuda Run to the northwest and is located along U.S. Route 158 near its intersection with NC 801. Route description NC 152 is a predominantly two-lane highway that traverses from NC 150 in Mooresville to U.S. Route 52 (US 52) in Rockwell. History NC 150 was established in 1930 as a new primary routing from NC 150 east of Mooresville to NC 80 in Rockwell. North Carolina Highway 150 (NC 150) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It serves the Foothills and Piedmont Triad areas of the state, connecting the cities of Shelby, Mooresville, Salisbury and Winston-Salem. Route description Gaston and Cleveland counties In Gaston County, NC 150 downgrades to a street. It travels through central Cherryville, North Carolina, where it meets NC 274. After crossing into Cleveland County, the route travels through Waco and across a small part of Kings Mountain Reservoir. North Carolina Highway 80
North Carolina Highway 80 (NC 80) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The highway connects the various mountain communities straddled along Buck Creek, South Toe River and North Toe River in Western North Carolina and serves as a direct route, via the Blue Ridge Parkway, to Mount Mitchell State Park. Route description NC 80 is a two-lane mountain highway between US 70, in Pleasant Gardens, and NC 226A, near Bakersville. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. Concurrent numbering can become very common in jurisdictions that allow it. Where multiple routes must pass between a single mountain crossing or over a bridge, or through a major city, it is often economically and practically advantageous for them all to be accommodated on a single physical roadway. Traveling north–south through Western North Carolina, it connects the cities and towns of Grover, Shelby, Marion, Spruce Pine and Bakersville. Mocksville is a town in Davie County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 5,051 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Davie County. History Mocksville was incorporated as a town in 1839. The town was named for the original owner of the town site. George E. NC 90
North Carolina Highway 90 (NC 90) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It is one of the few highways in the state with an unpaved portion. Route description The western terminus is in Edgemont (in Caldwell County) at an intersection with Edgemont Road (SR 1420), Roseboro Road ( Pisgah National Forest FR 981) and Edgemont Church Place (SR 1358). The first of the highway are quite curvy and unpaved. NC 90 enters Lenoir on Valway Road (SR 1352). The route then turns left onto N. Main Street to then overlap with US 321 on Blowing Rock Boulevard. NC 90 then turn left, after 2 miles, onto Wilkesboro Boulevard to overlap with US 64 and NC 18.
