NCAA Season 83 is the 2007–08 Season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines). José Rizal University is the host of the 2007–2008 season, with this year's theme " Soaring High and Free at 83". NCAA Season 82's commissioner Jun Bernardino was supposed to be the commissioner, if not for his death. Former Shell Turbo Chargers head coach and Basketball Coaches Association of the Philippines president Chito Narvasa will be this season's commissioner, succeeding Bernardino. PCU eligibity scandal After allegations of identity switching circulated via text messaging, Philippine Christian University (PCU) was investigated by the Management Committee (MANCOM) for alleged eligibility infractions on several of its varsity teams. The MANCOM has completed its own investigation and are waiting for PCU's internal investigation and has hinted of suspending the Dolphins for Season 83 after PCU's representatives did not show up in the MANCOM meeting. LSGH Greenies
The La Salle Greenies (officially the CSB–LSGH Greenies in the NCAA, although sometimes incorrectly called the La Salle Green Hills Junior Blazers, or the La Salle Green Hills Junior Archers) is the varsity team representing La Salle Green Hills (located in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines) is the junior affiliate team of the St. Benilde Blazers in the NCAA. Since LSGH is an all-boys school, the Greenies do not have a girls' team. History La Salle Green Hills' varsity team started as the La Salle Green Hills Rangers from the opening of the school in 1959 until it entered the NCAA as the juniors team representing De La Salle University in 1968, thus renaming them the La Salle Green Hills Greenies. San Sebastian Lady Stags
The San Sebastian Golden Stags (also known as SSC-R Stags) are the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) basketball team of the San Sebastian College – Recoletos. Their 5 consecutive NCAA seniors basketball championships was the longest streak in the NCAA. The other senior varsity teams may also be referred to as the Stags. The juniors team are the San Sebastian Staglets, while the women's team are the San Sebastian Lady Stags. Letran Lady Knights
The Letran Knights are the collegiate varsity teams representing Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The collegiate women's varsity teams are called the ''Lady Knights'', while the high school varsity teams are called the ''Squires''. CSB Blazers
The College of Saint Benilde Blazers are the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines), NCAA senior varsity team of De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde. The Blazers were formerly a member National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) before they applied and were admitted to the NCAA in 1998. They then went on to win their first NCAA seniors basketball title in 2000 was the fastest for an expansion squad. The other senior varsity teams may also be referred to as the Blazers. JRU Heavy Bombers
The JRU Heavy Bombers (also as José Rizal University Heavy Bombers) are the National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball team of the Jose Rizal University. The other senior varsity teams may also be referred to as the Heavy Bombers. The juniors team are the JRU Light Bombers. And also became current team in the PBA Developmental League. Name The José Rizal University got its moniker from the abundance of World War II vintage bombs in their campus. The JRU campus, like many others, was turned into a garrison by the Japanese army.
