This is a list of the NCAA Men's Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships, NCAA indoor champions in a middle distance event. Generally that was the 880 yard run until 1983, and the 800 meters being contested thereafter. The event was not held in 1986-7. NCAA Men's Division I Indoor Track And Field Championships
The NCAA Men's Division I Indoor Track and Field Championship is an annual collegiate indoor track and field competition for men organised by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Athlete's individual performances earn points for their institution and the team with the most points receives the NCAA team title in track and field. A separate NCAA Division I women's competition is also held. Dave Patrick
David Patrick (born June 12, 1960 in Centralia, Illinois) is a retired American hurdler. He ran the 400 metres hurdles in the 1992 Summer Olympics and was the second American in the final, which was won by Kevin Young while setting the still standing current world record in the event. Patrick won two individual NCAA titles (880 yards indoor, 400 meter hurdles) while competing for the University of Tennessee. Patrick is the husband of Sandra Farmer-Patrick, who was also an elite 400 metres hurdler. The two had a history of success at the same meets, including the 1989 IAAF World Cup in Barcelona, Spain where both took the gold medal. It was the first time a husband and wife won a gold medal in the same event in international championship. Michael Williams (born 1 June 1971) is a Vincentian sprinter. He competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics and the 1992 Summer Olympics. Career Williams was part of the first Saint Vincent and the Grenadines team to compete at the Summer Olympics in 1988 at Seoul, South Korea, he was the youngest member of the team and at 17 years 116 days he still is the youngest Vincentian to compete at the Summer Olympics to date. David Mark Everett (born September 2, 1968) is an American retired middle-distance runner who won the bronze medal in the 800-meter event at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo. The following year, Everett finished second in the US Olympic Trials in New Orleans behind Johnny Gray. A few weeks later Everett beat Gray at the Bislett Games in Oslo, setting a new personal best of 1:43.40. Everett and Gray went to Barcelona as favorites for the gold and silver medals.
