NBA Development League All-Star Game
The NBA D-League All-Star Game was an annual exhibition basketball game held by the NBA Development League (D-League). The D-League was founded in 2001 as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) and later as the NBA Development League. The league, now known as the NBA G League, serves as the National Basketball Association's official minor league basketball organization. The game was first held during the 2006–07 season as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend. The D-League All-Star Game was played on Saturday in the same host city as the NBA All-Star Game. However, the game was not held in the same arena as all the other All-Star Saturday events. Instead, it was held on the NBA Jam Session's practice court. An exhibition game (also known as a friendly, a scrimmage, a demonstration, a preseason game, a warmup match, or a preparation match, depending at least in part on the sport) is a sporting event whose prize money and impact on the player's or the team's rankings is either zero or otherwise greatly reduced. In team sports, matches of this type are often used to help coaches and managers select and condition players for the competitive matches of a league season or tournament. Blake Ahearn
Blake Ahearn (born May 27, 1984) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for Missouri State. High school career Ahearn attended Immacolata School in St. Louis for grade school. He then went to De Smet Jesuit High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He played three years of varsity. He averaged 17.7 points per game as a junior and 18.5 as a senior. He was an All-Metro Selection his junior and senior years and an All-State selection his junior year. In his junior year, he broke his hand in the divisional semifinal game. The 2009 NBA All-Star Game was an Exhibition game, exhibition basketball game that was played on February 15, 2009, during the National Basketball Association's (NBA) 2008–09 NBA season, 2008–09 season. Fort Wayne Mad Ants
The Fort Wayne Mad Ants are an American professional basketball team of the NBA G League based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and are affiliated with the Indiana Pacers. The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is located in Downtown New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. The 2008 NBA All-Star Game was an exhibition basketball game that was played on February 17, 2008, during the National Basketball Association's (NBA) 2007–08 season. The Fort Worth Flyers were a minor league basketball team in the NBA Development League (D-League) based in Fort Worth, Texas. They began play in the 2005–06 season and were shut down for the 2007–08 season.
