NAACP Image Award
The NAACP Image Awards is an annual awards ceremony presented by the U.S.-based National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) to honor outstanding performances in film, television, theatre, music, and literature. Similar to other awards, like the Oscars and the Grammys, the over 40 categories of the Image Awards are voted on by the award organization's members (in this case, NAACP members). Honorary awards (similar to the Academy Honorary Award) have also been included, such as the President's Award, the Chairman's Award, the Entertainer of the Year, and the Hall of Fame Award. Minyon Moore
Minyon Moore (born May 16, 1958) is an American political activist and civil servant. Moore is the founder of Women Building for the Future, and heads Dewey Square Group's state and local practice. She was formerly chief executive officer and before that chief operating officer of the Democratic National Committee, and before that, assistant to the President of the United States, director of the White House Office of Public Liaison, and director of White House political affairs under President Bill Clinton. Leah D. Daughtry is an American political operative. She was the CEO of the 2016 and 2008 Democratic National Convention Committees, and the chief of staff to Howard Dean, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Anthony Sparks
Anthony Sparks is an American television showrunner, writer-producer, and playwright. He is also an essay writer who focuses on media, performance, and African American politics and culture. He also holds a Ph.D. in American Studies & Ethnicity from USC and began his career as an actor in classical theatre and was also a lead performer in New York in the hit show ''Stomp'' and in the Emmy winning HBO film ''Stomp Out Loud''. Sparks is also a committed educator in the fields of film, television, African American studies, and American Studies. Caroline Randall Williams (born August 24, 1987) is an American author, poet and academic best known for the 2015 cookbook ''Soul Food Love'', co-written with her mother, author Alice Randall, and published by Random House. In February, 2016, ''Soul Food Love'' received the NAACP Image Award in Literature (Instructional). In 2015, her book of poetry, ''Lucy Negro, Redux'' was published by Ampersand Books.
