Mahmood Khan Achakzai ( ps, محمود خان اڅکزی; born 14 December 1948) is a Pakistani Pashtun politician who is the chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) till 27th December of 2022. Mahmood Achakzai was thrown out by the party for breaking of its rules and regulations and also for his compromise to the Punjabi Establishment. Early life and education Achakzai was born on 14 December 1948 to Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai. He received BSc degree in Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar in 1971. Political career Achakzai is a Pashtun nationalist who was elected as the chairman of the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP) following the assassination of his father Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai in a bomb attack in Quetta in 1973. 2023 Pakistan By-elections
2023 Pakistani parliamentary crisis began when 127 MNAs belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) resigned en masse from National Assembly. Finally, all by-elections have been suspended by the High Courts from the four provinces. These by-elections were called due to the acceptance of resignations of members of the National Assembly (MNAs) from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Background After the removal of Prime Minister Imran Khan through a successful vote of no-confidence, 123 MNAs of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), along with Imran Khan and several former Ministers, resigned from the National Assembly of Pakistan. Qasim Khan Suri ( ur, born 16 January 1969) is a Pakistani politician. He served as the 19th Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 15 August 2018 to 16 April 2022. Early life and education He was born in January 1969 in Quetta, to a Pashtun family from the Sur tribe, who are a sub-clan of the Khiljis. His father had a medicine business which Suri took over in 1997 after death of his father. His mother is of Urdu-speaking background. Suri received his early education from the Quetta Islamia School and enrolled in Federal Government College in 1988. Pakhtun-khwa Milli Awami Party
The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (; ), abbreviated as PMAP or PKMAP, is a political party in Pakistan's Balochistan province. It was founded by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, who was elected as the chairman, and Sher Ali Bacha, who served as the General Secretary, in March 1989 in Quetta. The party was a coalition partner of the PML-N in the Balochistan government following the 2013 elections and stood by the pmln during some of the latter's most challenging times in government.
