Nun (band)
Nun is a Melbourne-based synth punk band formed in 2011. They have released two albums. History Nun started as a recording project as part of Tom Hardisty's studies at RMIT in 2011, with Steven Harris, Hugh Young, and Jenny Branagan joining as the project grew. Solvents / Nun The band released their first single ''Solvents'' on Nihilistic Orbs in 2012, which was followed by their debut self-titled album ''Nun'' in 2014, released by Aarght Records in Australia, Avant! in Italy, and HoZac Records in America. While recording their album the band where highlighted in Jimi Kritzler's book ''Noise in My Head: Voices from the Ugly Australian Underground''. The book features interviews with several independent and underground bands, and was celebrated for its focus on notable Australian musicians who may not have received enough mainstream press. Nun ( Hebrew: נוּן ''Nūn'', 'Perpetuity'), in the Hebrew Bible, was a man from the Tribe of Ephraim, grandson of Ammihud, son of Elishama, and father of Joshua (). Biblical context Nun grew up in and may have lived his entire life in the Israelites' Egyptian captivity, where the Egyptians "made life bitter for them with harsh labor at mortar and bricks and with all sorts of tasks in the field" (). Nun is the fourteenth letter of the Semitic abjads, including Phoenician Nūn , Hebrew Nun , Aramaic Nun , Syriac Nūn ܢܢ, and Arabic Nūn (in abjadi order). Its numerical value is 50. It is the third letter in Thaana (), pronounced as "noonu". In all languages, it represents the alveolar nasal /n/. Nun Pigeon
The Nun is a breed of fancy pigeon developed through many years of selective breeding. It was known as the Dutch Shell Pigeon in continental Europe. Nuns, along with other varieties of domesticated pigeons, are all descendants from the rock pigeon (''Columba livia''). The Nun is one of the oldest breeds and was originally a flying tumbler before being developed for exhibition. It is a mostly white breed, with a hood of feathers, which gives the name to the breed. Description The Nun is given its name by the raised feathers which form a kind of hood which covers the back of the neck and head, resembling a nun. Nun Kun is a mountain massif of the greater Himalayan range, located on the border of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in northern India. It consists of two main peaks: Nun () and Kun (),Figures for Kun's elevation vary between 7,035 m and 7,086 m. separated from each other by a 4 km long snowy plateau, with a third peak of the massif, known as Pinnacle Peak (), lying at its eastern end. Saufley Field
Saufley Field is a military airport and support facility located in unincorporated Escambia County, Florida, United States, five nautical miles (9 km) west of the central business district of Pensacola. It is an active U.S. Navy facility and a former Naval Air Station, with its non-aviation activity now known as NETPDC Saufley Field. Nuneaton railway station serves the large town of Nuneaton in Warwickshire, England. The station is managed by West Midlands Trains. The nundinae (), sometimes anglicized to nundines,. were the market days of the ancient Roman calendar, forming a kind of weekend including, for a certain period, rest from work for the ruling class (patricians). The nundinal cycle, market week, or 8-day week ( la, nundinum. or ') was the cycle of days preceding and including each nundinae. These were marked on fasti using from A to H. The earliest form of the Roman calendar is sometimes said to have included exactly 38 such cycles, running for 304 days from March to December before an unorganized expanse of about 50 winter days.
