''Number Ones'' is a greatest hits album by American singer Michael Jackson. It was released on November 18, 2003, by Epic Records. ''Number Ones'' was Jackson's first proper compilation album with Epic Records, after the release of the first disc of '' HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I'' in 1995 (and after the re-release of that disc as a single album titled '' Greatest Hits: HIStory, Volume I'' in 2001). The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the music recording industry in the United States. Top Pop Catalog Albums is a 50-position weekly albums chart produced by ''Billboard'' Magazine which ranks the best-selling catalog albums in the United States, regardless of genre. ''Billboard'' defines a catalog title as one that is more than 18 months old and that has fallen below position 100 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Albums meeting these criteria are removed from the ''Billboard'' ''Current Albums'' ranking and begin a new chart run on the ''Top Pop Catalog Albums'' chart.
