Nuestra Belleza México 2007
The 14th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Auditorio "Profr. Manuel Bonilla Valle" of Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico on October 6, 2007. Thirty-three contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Elisa Nájera from Guanajuato, who later competed in Miss Universe 2008 in Vietnam where she was the 4th Runner-up. Nájera was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Rosa María Ojeda. She is the first and only Guanajuatense to win this title. The Nuestra Belleza Mundo México title was won by Anagabriela Espinoza from Nuevo León, who later competed in Miss World 2008 in South Africa where she was a semifinalist in the Top 15. Espinoza was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza Mundo México titleholder Carolina Morán. She was the second Neoleonesa to win this title. Elisa Nájera Gualito (born August 16, 1986, in Celaya, Guanajuato) is a Mexican TV host, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Nuestra Belleza México on October 5, 2007, in Manzanillo, Colima. Pageants Nájera competed against 33 other contestants in the national pageant Nuestra Belleza Mexico, which she won. On July 2, 2008, beating 79 other contestants, Najera won the "Best in Bikini - Queen Of Vinpearl" special award title, which came with a trophy and US$2,000. Miss World 2008
Miss World 2008, the 58th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 13 December 2008 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Originally, the pageant was going to take place in Kyiv, Ukraine, but because of the ongoing 2008 Russo-Georgian diplomatic crisis in neighbouring South Ossetia, the Miss World Organization decided to move the pageant away from Eastern Europe. 109 contestants from all over the world compete for the crown, the second highest turnout in the 59 years of the pageant. The first Nuestra Belleza México pageant was held at the Auditorio Benito Juárez of Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico on November 13, 1994. Thirty-two contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Luz María Zetina from México (state), Estado de México, who later competed at Miss Universe 1995 in Namibia. Zetina was crowned by Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen from India and Lupita Jones, first Mexican Miss Universe 1991, Miss Universe and National Director of Nuestra Belleza México. Luz María Zetina (born Luz María Zetina Lugo on May 28, 1973, in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican actress, model, TV hostess, TV personality and former Nuestra Belleza México, Miss Mexico 1994 of Italian descent. Priscila Perales (born Silvia Priscila Perales Elizondo; February 24, 1983 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico) is a Mexican actress, spokesperson, beauty queen, author and former model. She was crowned Nuestra Belleza México 2005 (Miss Mexico). She was a top ten finalist in the Miss Universe 2006, Miss Universe 2006 pageant. The following year, she became the first Mexican to win the title of Miss International 2007, Miss International in 2007.
