Novosibirsk Time
Novosibirsk Time was historically MSK+4. When Novosibirsk Oblast including the city of Novosibirsk changed to MSK+3, the MSK+4 time started to be called Krasnoyarsk Time. The MSK+3 time was known as Omsk Time before the change and still is so. In 2016, according to the Federal Law ФЗ-216 signed by president Putin on July 3, 2016 the Novosibirsk Time returns to MSK+4. The law takes effect July 24, 2016 at 2:00. Novosibirsk Oblast
Novosibirsk Oblast (russian: Новосиби́рская о́бласть, ''Novosibirskaya oblast'') is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast) located in southwestern Siberia. Its administrative and economic center is the city of Novosibirsk. The population was 2,788,849 as of the 2018 Census. Geography Overview Novosibirsk Oblast is located in the south of the West Siberian Plain, at the foothills of low Salair ridge, between the Ob and Irtysh Rivers. The oblast borders Omsk Oblast in the west, Kazakhstan (Pavlodar Province) in the southwest, Tomsk Oblast in the north, Kemerovo Oblast in the east, and Altai Krai in the south. Krasnoyarsk Time
Krasnoyarsk Time (KRAT) is the time zone seven hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+07:00) and 4 hours ahead of Moscow Time (MSK+4). KRAT is the official time zone for central and east Siberian regions of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Kemerovo Oblast, Khakassia and Tuva. Novosibirsk Oblast used this time zone until 1993, when it was known as ''Novosibirsk Time'' (NOVT/NOVST). The Russian government renamed the time zone shortly after Novosibirsk opted for another time zone instead. Between 27 March 2011 and 25 October 2014, Krasnoyarsk Time was fixed at UTC+08:00. In 2016, the Altai Republic, Altai Krai, Novosibirsk Oblast, and Tomsk Oblast, switched to Krasnoyarsk Time from Omsk Time. Omsk Time
Omsk Time (OMST) is a time zone in Russia that is six hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+06:00), and 3 hours ahead of Moscow Time (MSK). It is used in Omsk Oblast. History Until 1991, Omsk Time was one of the two time zones used in Soviet Central Asia. In addition to Omsk Oblast in the Russian SFSR, it covered the eastern two thirds of Kazakh SSR, all of Kyrgyz and Tajik SSRs, and eastern Uzbek SSR. This included the city of Omsk and the capitals Alma-Ata (Almaty), Frunze (Bishkek), Dushanbe and Tashkent. For two years after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Omsk Oblast remained the only region in Russia in this time zone. The newly independent Central Asian states ceased to observe daylight saving time, while Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in addition "moved west" by adjusting the clocks one hour back.
