Nothing But The Truth (Mac McAnally Album)
''Nothing But the Truth'' is the fourth album by American singer Mac McAnally, released in 1983 on Geffen Records. The album failed to chart. The single " Minimum Love" narrowly missed the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 41. However, it was a top 10 hit on the Adult Contemporary chart, peaking at No. 7. Content and history McAnally wrote the songs for the album over the course of two years. During this timespan, he also became a father for the first time, and his own father died as well. Keith Tuber of ''Orange Coast'' thought that the album reflected a theme of "compromise" given McAnally's life experiences leading up to its release. Lyman Corbitt McAnally Jr. (; born July 15, 1957), known professionally as Mac McAnally, is an American country music singer-songwriter, session musician, and record producer. In his career, he has recorded ten studio albums and eight singles. Two of his singles were hits on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and six more on the Hot Country Songs charts. His ninth chart entry came in late 2008-early 2009 as a guest vocalist on Kenny Chesney's cover of his 1990 single " Down the Road". He has also produced for Sawyer Brown and Restless Heart, written several singles for other artists, and is a member of Jimmy Buffett's backing band, The Coral Reefer Band. David Hood
David Hood (born September 21, 1943) is an American bassist from Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He also plays the trombone. He is a member of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Early life and education Hood was born in Sheffield, Alabama and attended the University of North Alabama. Career Hood started his career playing with the Mystics and as a backup musician at FAME Studios. He went on to co-found Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, where he produced songs for Willie Nelson, Cher and others. Robert Byrne (songwriter)
Robert Byrne (July 10, 1954 – June 27, 2005) was an American songwriter known primarily for his work in country music. He did most of his work at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Between the 1980s and 2000s, Byrne co-wrote singles for several artists, including the number one singles "How Do I Turn You On" by Ronnie Milsap; "I Can't Win for Losin' You", "Once in a Blue Moon (song), Once in a Blue Moon", "That Was a Close One" and "What I'd Say" for Earl Thomas Conley; "I Didn't Know My Own Strength (Lorrie Morgan song), I Didn't Know My Own Strength" by Lorrie Morgan; and "Two Dozen Roses" by Shenandoah (band), Shenandoah. Lenny LeBlanc (born June 17, 1951) is an American musician and songwriter. He started his career with Pete Carr in 1975 and later separated ways when both had different plans for their profession. A resident of Alabama, he is known for the song " Falling" and has sung with many artists. Since 1987, LeBlanc works at his own studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Early life He was born in Leominster, Massachusetts, United States. In 1955, his family moved south to Daytona Beach, Florida. Steven Jay Nathan is an American keyboardist. He is known for his session work in Muscle Shoals and Nashville studios. Biography Nathan was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. In 1977, Nathan moved to Muscle Shoals, Alabama. After touring with LeBlanc and Carr, he participated in the recording of Lenny LeBlanc’s first solo record. For the next 14 years, Steve played on records produced by Rick Hall at FAME Studios, often teaming with Roger Hawkins on drums and David Hood on bass. Roger G. Hawkins (October 16, 1945 – May 20, 2021) was an American drummer best known for playing as part of the studio backing band known as the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (also known as the Swampers) of Alabama. James Stroud
James Stroud is an American musician and record producer who works in pop, rock, R&B, soul, disco, and country music. He played with the Malaco Rhythm Section for Malaco Records. In the 1990s, he was the president of Giant Records (a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Records) and held several credits as a session drummer. He later worked for DreamWorks Records Nashville and in 2008 founded his own label, Stroudavarious Records. Biography Stroud began playing drums at local bar bands in Texas and Louisiana. Stroud worked with musicians such as Paul Davis in the 1960s. He and Davis also took on songwriting duties for Jackson, Mississippi-based Malaco Records. William David Hungate (born August 5, 1948) is an American bass guitarist noted as a member of the Los Angeles pop-rock band Toto from 1976 to 1982 and again from 2014 to 2015, and the son of judge William L. Hungate. Along with most of his Toto bandmates, Hungate did sessions on a number of hit albums of the 1970s, including Boz Scaggs's ''Silk Degrees'' and Alice Cooper's '' From the Inside''. Career Hungate played on Toto's first four records, including the Grammy award-winning album ''Toto IV''. He left the band shortly after its release for a career as a session musician in Nashville.
