Not The Sunscreen Song
"Not the Sunscreen Song" is a song by Australian personality, John Safran released in December 1997. The song is a Parody of Baz Luhrmann's 1997 single "Wear_Sunscreen#Baz_Luhrmann_version, Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" which is a recording of a spoken word of essay on how to live a happier life written as a hypothetical commencement speech by Column (periodical), columnist Mary Schmich, in June 1997 via the ''Chicago Tribune''. The song also sampled Luhrmann's remixed version of the song "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)" by Rozalla. "Not the Sunscreen Song" peaked at number 20 on the Australian ARIA Charts. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1998, the song was nominated for ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release. In Triple M's ''2005 Greatest Songs Ever Written and Performed Since the Beginning of Time'' poll, "Not the Sunscreen Song" came in at #706 – one spot above "Superstition (song), Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. The ARIA Charts are the main Australian music sales charts, issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. The charts are a record of the highest selling songs and albums in various genres in Australia. ARIA became the official Australian music chart in June 1988, succeeding the Kent Music Report, which had been Australia's national music sales charts since 1974. Nick Disbray
Big Pig was an Australian funk, rock and pop band that existed from 1985 to 1991. An early line-up was Sherine Abeyratne on lead vocals and percussion (ex-Editions, Bang); Tony Antoniades on vocals and harmonica; Neil Baker on drums; Nick Disbray on vocals and percussion; Tim Rosewarne on vocals and keyboards (ex-Bang); Adrian Scaglione on drums; and Oleh Witer on vocals and percussion (ex-Bang). They issued two albums, ''Bonk'' (May 1988) and ''You Lucky People'' (15 November 1990), on the White Records Label imprint of Mushroom Records. ''Bonk'' reached No. 5 on the Kent Music Report. The 12th Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as the ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAS) was held on 20 October 1998 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. Rozalla Miller (born 18 March 1964), better known as simply Rozalla, is a Zimbabwean electronic music performer who was born in what was then Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). At the age of 18, she moved with her parents to her father's country of origin, Zimbabwe.
