Norwood Park is a park located in West Norwood. The park is bordered by Elder Road, Central Hill and Salter's Hill in South East London. The park is jointly managed by Lambeth Council and the community group Friends of Norwood Park. The park is not fenced and is fully accessible to the public at all times. Location Norwood park is situated on one of the highest points in Lambeth and commands views across Dulwich to the City and Central London away. One of the highest points in London is less than a mile away at Westow Hill, at above sea-level. On a clear day, famous sights can be seen from the park such as St Paul's Cathedral, the London Eye and the Shard, the tallest building in Western Europe. The fifth tallest structure in London, Crystal Palace transmitting station, is about a mile away and clearly viewable from the park. Norwood Park is one of the 77 Chicago community areas. It encompasses the smaller neighborhoods of Big Oaks, Norwood Park East, Norwood Park West, Old Norwood Park, Oriole Park, and Union Ridge. The community area contains the oldest extant building in Chicago, the Noble–Seymour–Crippen House, built in 1833 and greatly expanded in 1868. Organized in 1873 as a township from the adjacent townships of Jefferson, Leyden, Niles, and Maine, and named after Henry Ward Beecher's 1868 novel ''Norwood, or Village Life in New England'' (With the "Park" added to account for another post office in Illinois with the Norwood name), Norwood Park was incorporated as a village in 1874 and annexed to Chicago on November 7, 1893. Norwood Green is a place in the London Borough of Ealing in London, England, that forms the southern part of Southall. It is a suburban development centred west of Charing Cross and ENE of Heathrow Airport. Its origin coincides with the 12th century arch in its chapel, the date when it is first recorded. South Norwood Country Park is a park in South Norwood, close to Elmers End and Birkbeck train stations. The historic Kent-Surrey border runs through the site, and since 1965 it has been located wholly in the London Borough of Croydon. It is a 47 hectare (116 acre) green space which opened in 1989. South Norwood Lake and Grounds is a park in South Norwood in the London Borough of Croydon. The main entrance is in Woodvale Avenue while other entrances are located in Auckland Road and Sylvan Road. The area measures up to 28 acres (11.53 hectares). As well as the lake, there is a bowling green, tennis and basketball courts, football pitches, a cricket pitch, a playground and a trim trail. The park has active park rangers and has a park ranger's office with adjoining public toilets.
