Norwegian Shipowners' Association
The Norwegian Shipowners Association () is an employers' organization and interest group for Norwegian shipping and offshore companies. The organization's primary fields are national and international industry policies, employer issues, competence and recruitment, environmental issues and innovation in addition to safety at sea. The operations of the Norwegian Shipowners Association is executed in close relation to the industry. The organization is led by boards and councils appointed by its members, and an important part of the operations is carried out by groups and committees. The member organizations are divided into five different groups: Deep Sea, Short Sea, Group of Underwater entrepreneurs (GUE), Group of Offshore entrepreneurs (GOE) and Group of Offshore Service companies (GOS). Jørgen Jahre
Jørgen Jahre (29 October 1907 – 24 April 1998) was a Norwegian shipowner and sports official. Jørgen Jahre was born in Tjølling, in Vestfold county, Norway. He was a nephew of Norwegian shipping magnate Anders Jahre. He was secretary of the Norwegian shipping company A/S Kosmos in Sandefjord until in 1939. In 1948 he went from being a manager in Sandar Fabrikker A/S to becoming a partner in Anders Jahre's company. He has been the president of the Norwegian Shipowners' Association. He was the president of the Football Association of Norway from 1963 to 1965, and chairman of the Norwegian Olympic Committee from 1965 to 1969. Vice chairman during this period was Arne B. Mollén, who also became Jahre's successor. Leif Terje Løddesøl
Leif Terje Løddesøl (24 April 1935 – 18 November 2021) was a Norwegian businessperson. He was born in Oslo as a son of Aasulv Løddesøl (1896–1978) and Liv Marie Bjørlykke (1905–1994). He has been married twice. He graduated from the University of Oslo with the cand.jur. degree in 1960, and studied further, among others at the Hague Academy of International Law and the College of Europe in Brussels. After a period as deputy judge in Hardanger District Court he worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1963 to 1966 and the Norwegian Shipowners' Association from 1966 to 1969. He was then the chief executive officer of ScanAustral from 1969 to 1973, Wilh. Wilhelmsen from 1973 to 1980 and Den norske Creditbank from 1980 to 1988. Jens Ulltveit-Moe (born July 16, 1942 in Drammen) is a Norwegian businessperson. He founded Umoe in 1984, and retains ownership of the group. Ulltveit-Moe is CEO of Umoe, and was formerly Chairman of Petroleum Geo-Services. Biography Ulltveit-Moe was educated at the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen and School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University in the United States. Umoe was founded as Ulltveit-Moe-gruppen by him in 1984, and had various investments mainly related to shipbuilding and engineering. Atle Jebsen (10 November 1935 – 13 October 2009) was a Norwegian businessperson and ship-owner. Jebsen was born in Bergen in 1935 and was a great-grandson of Peter Jebsen.
