Norway In The Eurovision Song Contest 2015
Norway participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "A Monster Like Me" written by Kjetil Mørland. The song was performed by Mørland and Debrah Scarlett. The Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK) organised the national final ''Melodi Grand Prix 2015'' in order to select the Norwegian entry for the 2015 contest in Vienna, Austria. Eleven entries competed in a show that took place on 14 March 2015 and the winner was determined over two rounds of public televoting. The top four entries in the first round of voting advanced to the competition's second round—the Gold Final. Kjetil Mørland
Kjetil Mørland (born 3 October 1980), better known as simply Mørland, is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. He represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 along with Debrah Scarlett with his song "A Monster Like Me". Career Mørland fronted the band Absent Elk from its 2008 inception, releasing the album '' Caught in the Headlights'' in the spring of 2009. The band supported The Script, The Hoosiers and Girls Aloud on UK tours before going on to tour the UK themselves in June 2009. In 2015 Mørland wrote "A Monster Like Me", and performed it at Melodi Grand Prix as a duet with Debrah Scarlett. They won the competition with 88,869 votes and represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna. Tarjei Strøm
Tarjei Frugård Strøm (born October 26, 1978 in Bergen, Norway) is a drummer for the Norwegian rock groups Ralph Myerz and the Jack Herren Band and Datarock. He also co-hosted the radio show 'Sexy' on Norwegian radio channel NRK P3, along with Totto Mjelde. Bands Ralph Myerz and The Jack Herren Band The band was formed in 1997 when Erlend Sellevold asked for people to play percussion with him during a party in Bergen. Thomas Lønnheim and Tarjei Strøm showed up through a combination of mutual contacts and high-school friendship. Supposedly a one-time-event, they had so much fun playing together that they decided to form a band, and Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band was formed. Norway was represented by Lars A. Fredriksen, with the song "Alltid sommer", at the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 9 May in Birmingham. Silya Nymoen (Silje Haugum Nymoen, born January 3, 1978) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter based in Oslo. She is the lead singer and songwriter in the band Silya & The Sailors.
