Norway was represented by three-member girl group Charmed, with the song "My Heart Goes Boom", at the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 13 May in Stockholm. "My Heart Goes Boom" was chosen as the Norwegian entry at the Melodi Grand Prix on 4 March. Before Eurovision Melodi Grand Prix 2000 ''Melodi Grand Prix 2000'' was the Norwegian national final that selected Norway's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2000. Charmed was a Norwegian girl band. Overview The group Charmed made their debut in the Norwegian national final of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "My Heart Goes Boom". Charmed were three girls in their mid-twenties:Oddrun Valestrand, Lise Monica Nygård, and Hanne Kristine Haugsand. Valestrand is a dancer and an all-round performer. Nygård writes her own lyrics. Haugsand is a dancer and a singer. After winning the Melodi Grand Prix they represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 and finished in 11th position. Hanne participated in 2006 as a solo act in the Melodi Grand Prix with "Heaven's In Your Eyes". She didn't proceed to the final. She also participated in 2010, again without getting to the final. Arnold Børud
Arnold Børud (born 28 October 1947) is a Norwegian singer, musician and record producer. Biography He grew up in Askim, and has been a devout Christian since the age of 18, when a friend invited him to a Christian camp. Only two years later, he had learned the guitar and piano, and released his first record as a part of the duo Arild og Arnold. In 1973, he started two gospel choirs, Tvers and Mini-Tvers. With these choirs Børud became a pioneer in introducing gospel music to Norwegian Pietist congregations. He has thus been called "Mr. Gospel" in Norway. He had already, in 1972, formed the gospel group Frisk Luft together with Rune Larsen, Ivar Skippervold and Kjell Fjalsett. The group formed by coincidence when Larsen and Børud, performing at Hedmarktoppen, spotted the already-known Fjalsett and Skippervold in the audience and invited them onto the stage. Norway has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 60 times since making its debut in and has only been absent twice since then. In 1970, the country boycotted the contest over disagreements about the voting structure, and in 2002, they were relegated. Founded in April, 1990, by a group of students (the founding CEO was Allan Martinson), it sought to inform foreign correspondents in Moscow of developments in the Baltic states' struggles for independence from the Soviet Union. Hilde Heltberg
Hilde Heltberg (30 September 1959 – 4 September 2011) was a Norwegian singer, guitarist and songwriter, born in Oslo, Norway. Career Heltberg started her career in the late 70s when she entered a talent competition judged by Stein Ove Berg, who became her mentor. She later joined the band Uncle John's Band, and, in 1982, X-tra, with Trond Granlund. She released her first, self-titled, solo album in 1982, but found a more individual style in 1983 with ''På bare bein'' (On bare feet), produced by Jonas Fjeld. All in all Heltberg released 12 albums over the course of her career. She also participated in the Norwegian qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest three times as an artist: in 1980, 1984 and 1985, and as a songwriter in 2000. Christian Ingebrigtsen (born 25 January 1977) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter and musician. He is a member of the pop group A1. Biography Ingebrigtsen was born in Oslo, Norway, into a musical family. His father Stein Ingebrigtsen was the biggest selling recording artist in Norway in the 1970s. At the age of three, Christian joined his father on tour. He learned to play the violin at six, and later started playing the piano and guitar.
