Northeastern University School of Pharmacy is the pharmacy school at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. It is one of four schools that comprise the Bouvé College of Health Sciences. Northeastern's Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program is the only PharmD cooperative education, or co-op, program in the United States. Students who participate in the co-op program are placed in paid, full-time positions that provide profession experience. History The Northeastern University School of Pharmacy traces its origins to 1927, when the Meriano School of Pharmacy on Huntington Avenue at Massachusetts Avenue was founded by Greek-born pharmacist Constantine Meriano. The institution was officially incorporated in 1940 as the Boston School of Pharmacy. Accreditation Council For Pharmacy Education
Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) is a non-profit accreditation national agency recognized by Council on Higher Education Accreditation and the US Department of Education. It was established in 1932 as the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education and was renamed as the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education in 2003. ACPE is based in Chicago and accredits and pre-accredits schools offering PharmD degrees and providers of continuing pharmacy education. The accrediting body is made up of professionals from the American Council on Education, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the American Pharmacists Association, and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
