North Of The Border (film)
''North of the Border'' is a 1946 American Western film. The movie was directed by B. Reeves Eason and based on a story by James Oliver Curwood. Many of the same cast and crew also worked on '' 'Neath Canadian Skies''. Although the film credits James Curwood, TCM states that "the film does not appear to have been based on one of his stories." Synopsis American rancher "Utah" Nyes (Hayden) comes to Canada to meet his partner, Bill Lawton. He finds that Lawton has been murdered by a gang led by "Nails" Nelson (Fowley). With the help of Mountie Jack Craig (Talbot), and fur-trapper Ivy Jenkins (Jolley), "Utah" manages to clear himself of the murder of Lawton, and also to break up Nelson's gang. Richard Alexander (November 19, 1902 – August 9, 1989) was an American film character actor. Biography Born in Dallas, Texas, Alexander appeared in numerous film serials such as ''Flash Gordon'', ''Zorro Rides Again'' and films like '' Babes in Toyland'', ''The Gladiator'', as well as a leading role in '' All Quiet on the Western Front''. John Joseph Francis Mulhall (October 7, 1887 – June 1, 1979) was an American film actor beginning in the silent film era who successfully transitioned to sound films, appearing in over 430 films in a career spanning 50 years. Early years Mulhall was born in Wappingers Falls, New York. He was one of six children born to an Irish father and a Scottish mother. He began helping with carnival acts when he was 14 years old. Career Before acting in films, Mulhall worked in legitimate theater, musical comedy, and vaudeville. He also worked as a model for magazine illustrators.
