Free Joseon
Free Joseon (; formerly known as Cheollima Civil Defense, formally styled as The Provisional Government of Free Joseon) is a North Korean activist group and self-proclaimed "government in exile" established on 4 March 2017. It has been noted for protecting the family of Kim Jong-nam (including Kim Han-sol) following his assassination in Malaysia. It is also known to support North Korean defectors. On 1 March 2019, "Cheollima Civil Defense" was renamed to "Free Joseon", which is also the proposed name for North Korea if it "overthrows its current government". Korean Friendship Association
The Korean Friendship Association (KFA, es, Asociación de Amistad con Corea) is a Spain-based friendship association with North Korea. The KFA was established in November 2000. It claims to have official representatives in 34 countries. The KFA was designated 'North Korean state controlled media' by Facebook. Its president, Spanish citizen Alejandro Cao de Benós de Les y Pérez, is the only person paid a salary. Fees collected by the KFA are generally deposited in accounts in his name around Europe. Alejandro Cao De Benós
Alejandro Cao de Benós de Les y Pérez (born 24 December 1974) is a Spanish political activist with close relations with North Korea. He is a Special Representative of the Foreign Ministry of North Korea. He is, according to himself, also the Special Delegate of North Korea's Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries. He is wanted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation for conspiracy to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). He is also the founder, president, and only salaried member of the Korean Friendship Association (KFA). He has been an advocate of North Korea since 1990. His Korean name, Cho Sun-il ("One Korea"), is self-given but not a legal name as he travels using his Spanish passport. The North Korean Embassy in Madrid incident is an event that occurred on 22 February 2019 at the Embassy of North Korea, Madrid, North Korean embassy in Madrid, Spain. The political group Free Joseon, which is opposed to the incumbent Kim Jong Un regime of North Korea, is alleged to have attacked and raided the embassy, while the group maintains that they were invited in to facilitate a high-level defection. Kim Hyok-chol ( Korean: 김혁철, born 1971) is a North Korean diplomat. Kim is the first ambassador in Spain, however, he was expelled in 2017. Early life and education Kim was born in Pyongyang and studied French at the Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies. Career From 2000 until 2012 Kim was the DPRK ambassador for Ethiopia in Addis Ababa and, since 2011, also for South Sudan in Juba. Alfonso Dastis
Alfonso María Dastis Quecedo (born October 5, 1955) is a Spanish diplomat, who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain from 2016 until 1 June 2018, when a vote of no-confidence against Mariano Rajoy ousted the government. Prior to becoming Minister he held several positions within the Spanish Diplomatic Corps. He is the current Ambassador of Spain to the Republic of Italy. Education Dastis studied law at the CEU San Pablo University in the 1970s, then attended the public Complutense University of Madrid.
