North Coast And Guanyinshan National Scenic Area
The North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area () (abbreviated as North Guan) is a national scenic area in Taiwan. When the scenic area was first established on October 17, 2002, it covered a total area of and was mainly composed of the north coast of Taiwan, Yehliu and Mount Guanyin. It encompasses two separate sections of New Taipei City. The larger part consists of the seashore, part of the ocean, and a strip of land either side of Cape Fugui, the northernmost point of Taiwan. The smaller part of the Scenic Area is centred on the -high Mount Guanyin. The north coast area is between Wanli District and the boundary between Sanzhi District and Tamsui. Among them, Yehliu Scenic Area is characterized by special geology and topography. Yehliu Cape 20041113
Yehliu () is a cape in Wanli District, New Taipei, Taiwan. The cape, known by geologists as the Yehliu Promontory, forms part of the Daliao Miocene Formation. It stretches approximately into the ocean and was formed as geological forces pushed the Datun Mountains out of the sea. A distinctive feature of the cape is the hoodoo stones that dot its surface. These shapes can be viewed at the Yehliu Geopark operated by the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area administration. A number of rock formations have been given imaginative names based on their shapes. The best known is the "Queen's Head" (女王頭), an iconic image in Taiwan and an unofficial emblem for the town of Wanli. Jinshan District, New Taipei
Jinshan District () is a rural district on the coast in northern New Taipei, Taiwan. The district draws many visitors each year because of its hot springs and its proximity to Chin Pao San and the Ju Ming Museum. The district is home to the Dharma Drum Buddhist College, an institution of higher learning founded by Dharma Drum Mountain monastics devoted to the principles of Zen Buddhism. Fuji Fishing Port
The Fuji Fishing Port () is a fishing port in Shimen District, New Taipei, Taiwan. History The port used to be a small unknown fishing port in the region. In 1995, the Fuji Fish Outlet Center was established by Jinshan Fishermen's Association within the area. After the local government established the Fuji Seafood Market, the port became well known to the public. Heping Island Park
Heping Island Park () is a park in Heping Island, Zhongzheng District, Keelung, Taiwan. History Strong wind over the years had eroded the coastal area of Heping Island, forming rocks with special shapes. The park used to be under military control for a long period of time. However, the ban was gradually lifted in the 1960s and 1970s. Since then, more tourists have come to the area. Parts of the parks were close starting the end of 2010 and was fully reopened to the public in June 2012. Features The park island is connected to Keelung mainland with the Heping Bridge. Keelung () or Jilong () (; Hokkien POJ: '), officially known as Keelung City, is a major port city situated in the northeastern part of Taiwan. Tamsui District (Hokkien POJ: ''Tām-chúi''; Hokkien Tâi-lô: ''Tām-tsuí''; Mandarin Pinyin: ''Dànshuǐ'') is a seaside district in New Taipei, Taiwan. Wanli District (), known in Basay as Masu, is a rural district on the rocky seacoast in northeastern New Taipei City in northern Taiwan. Wanli is a popular tourist destination and the site of the Cape Yeliu Miocene Formation which features distinctive hoodoo outcrops. The "Queen's Head" outcrop is a Taiwanese icon and serves as an informal trademark for the township. New Taipei City is a special municipality located in northern Taiwan.
