Rosa Gill
Rosa U. Gill (born June 5, 1943) is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives. She has represented the 33rd district (including constituents in eastern Wake County) since her initial appointment in 2009. Career A longtime Wake County mathematics teacher, Gill ran unsuccessfully for the Wake County Board of Commissioners in 1988. She later was elected to the Wake County School Board, where she served from 1999 to 2009. Following the death of Senator Vernon Malone, then State Rep. Dan Blue was appointed to fill the balance of Malone's term in the Senate. Gill was then appointed to Blue's former House seat, where she has served since 2009. Anson County, North Carolina
Anson County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 22,055. Its county seat is Wadesboro. History The county was formed in 1750 from Bladen County. It was named for George Anson, Baron Anson, a British admiral, who circumnavigated the globe from 1740 to 1744, and later became First Lord of the Admiralty. Anson purchased land in the state. Like its parent county Bladen being occupied by Native American tribes(Waccamaw people), Anson County was originally occupied by Catawba Siouan tribe as a vast territory with indefinite northern and western boundaries. Reductions in its extent began in 1753, when the northern part of it became Rowan County. In 1762 the western part of Anson County became Mecklenburg County. Daniel Terry Blue Jr. (born April 18, 1949) is an American politician and attorney serving as a member of the North Carolina Senate, representing the state's 14th Senate district, and is the Senate minority leader. Early life and education Blue graduated from North Carolina Central University and the Duke University School of Law, establishing a law practice in Raleigh, North Carolina. Montgomery County is a rural county located in the southern Piedmont of the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 25,751. Its county seat is Troy. History The county was formed in January 1779, by an act of the North Carolina General Assembly of 1778, from part of Anson County.
