Gale Adcock
Gale Adcock (born January 25, 1954) is a family nurse practitioner and American politician who has served in the North Carolina Senate representing the 16th district (including constituents in Wake County) since 2023. Adcock previously served in the North Carolina House of Representatives representing the 41st district (including constituents in Wake County) from 2015 to 2023. She also served as Deputy House Minority leader for one term. Life and career Adcock was raised in southwestern Virginia. She earned an undergraduate degree in nursing from East Carolina University and a master's of science in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Paul Coble
Paul Yelverton Coble (born October 19, 1953, in Raleigh, North Carolina) served one term as Mayor of Raleigh, North Carolina from December 1999 to December 2001. Coble served on the Wake County Board of Commissioners from 2006 to 2014, and served as chairman of the board from 2010 to 2012. In 2015, he became the Legislative Services Officer for the North Carolina General Assembly. Early life Coble is the son of Jack and Betsey Coble and the nephew of the late U.S. Senator Jesse Helms. M. Jackson "Jack" Nichols is an American politician who served as a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives from 2022 to 2023. An attorney from Raleigh, North Carolina, he represented the 34th district (including constituents in Wake County). Josh Stein
Joshua Stein (born September 13, 1966) is an American lawyer and politician who serves as the 50th and current Attorney General of North Carolina, a position he has held since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Stein previously served as a member of the North Carolina Senate representing District 16, located Wake County. While a member of the North Carolina Senate, Stein announced in 2013 that he would run for re-election in 2014 and then for North Carolina Attorney General in 2016. North Carolina elections to choose members of the Council of State (who head various executive branch departments) were held November 4, 2008. This coincided with the presidential, U.S. Senate, U.S. House, gubernatorial, and statewide judicial elections. Primary elections were held on May 6, 2008 for races in which more than one candidate filed for a party's nomination. One of the results of the general election was that women held a majority (six of 10, including the Governor) of the seats on the Council of State for the first time.
