Nortel Business Phones
Nortel (previously Northern Telecom) manufactured telephones for business users from the 1980s to 2001, beginning with the Meridian series. Current phones Nortel no longer exists. There are no phones being manufactured for, or by, Nortel. Since 2001, phones with the Nortel brand are made by Aastra Technologies Limited of Concord, Ontario. Nortel
Nortel Networks Corporation (Nortel), formerly Northern Telecom Limited, was a Canadian multinational telecommunications and data networking equipment manufacturer headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in Montreal, Quebec, in 1895 as the Northern Electric and Manufacturing Company. Aastra Technologies Limited, formerly headquartered in Concord, Ontario, Canada, made products and systems for accessing communication networks, including the Internet. Its products included residential and business telephone terminals, screen telephones, Enterprise private branch exchanges (PBX), network access terminals and high-quality digital video encoders, decoders and gateways. Residential telephone equipment was sold in the United States as Bell equipment by Sonecor brand, which represented Southern New England Telecommunications. Concord is a suburban industrial district in the City of Vaughan in York Region, located north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. According to the 2001 Census, Concord has 8,255 residents. It is accessed by two provincial highways: Highway 407 and Highway 400. A call box or callbox is a (usually metal) box containing a special-purpose direct line telephone or other telecommunications device which has been used by various industries and institutions as a way for employees or clients at a remote location to contact a central dispatch office. A touchscreen or touch screen is the assembly of both an input ('touch panel') and output ('display') device. The touch panel is normally layered on the top of an electronic visual display of an information processing system. The display is often an LCD, AMOLED or OLED display while the system is usually used in a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. An analog telephone adapter (ATA) is a device for connecting traditional analog telephones, fax machines, and similar customer-premises devices to a digital telephone system or a voice over IP telephony network. Northern Telecom (more commonly known as Nortel) manufactured several different models of Payphone over the years. They were most commonly used in Canada, as well as the United States. Nortel has manufactured several types in Canada: Early payphones * N213H-3 * N233H Series 200/ QSD-3A Northern Electric, Nortel's previous name made chrome payphones in the 1950s. The same phone was also made by Western Electric. Centurion Nortel Centurion were made in the 1970s–1980s and used coins only. They came in black, brown, blue, or green cases.
