Normahl
Normahl (written: NoRMAhl, meaning "normal" in German) is a German punk band formed in 1978 in Winnenden near Stuttgart by five high school students. Their music is upbeat and typically classified as punk pathetique ('pret-punk', or 'Fun-Punk') as well as Deutschpunk. Their lyrics sometimes deals with themes like sex, drugs, and partying. However Normahl's songs also notably address left-political themes such as police violence, xenophobia, nationalism, anarchy, capitalism, and resistance to fascism, often in a humorous way. Normahl had a large influence on the German punk rock scene in the 80s and 90s. Punk Pathetique
Punk pathetique is a subgenre of British punk rock (principally active circa 1980–1982) that involved humour and working-class cultural themes. Origin The name of the genre was coined by ''Sounds'' journalist Garry Bushell, who actively championed many of its exponents. Punk pathetique was initially an attempt to characterize a group of London bands that embodied Cockney culture with a Dickensian working class attitude. Musically, it was related to (and had crossover with) the Oi! subgenre. The cover of the 1980 Bushell/''Sounds'' compilation album ''Oi the Album'' described the record as featuring "ruck 'n' rollers and punk pathetiques". In contrast to harder-edged Oi! bands with more serious lyrics, punk pathetique bands focused on the naughty, silly and trivial. Winnenden School Shooting
The Winnenden school shooting occurred on the morning of 11 March 2009 at the Albertville-Realschule, a secondary school in Winnenden, southwestern Germany, followed by a shootout at a car dealership in nearby Wendlingen. The shooting spree resulted in 16 deaths, including the suicide of the perpetrator, 17-year-old Tim Kretschmer, who had graduated from the school a year earlier. Nine people were injured during the incident. Reinhard Mey
Reinhard Friedrich Michael Mey (born 21 December 1942) is a German "Liedermacher" (literally "songmaker", a German-style singer-songwriter). In France he is known as ''Frédérik Mey''. By 2009, Mey had released 27 German albums, and generally releases a new album approximately every two years; his first album was ''Ich wollte wie Orpheus singen'' (1967); the most recent studio album is ''Das Haus an der Ampel'' (2020). His biggest success to date was ''Mein Achtel Lorbeerblatt'' (1972). His most famous song by far is "Über den Wolken" (1974), which has been covered by numerous German artists.
