Noonday, Georgia
Noonday (spelled Noon Day on 1860s maps) was an unincorporated community located in far north-central Cobb County, Georgia, United States. It was centered at 34°03'43"N, 84°31'16"W (34.0620437, -84.5213204), along former Georgia highway 5, around the Noonday Baptist Church. This Baptist church is still active today. Noonday Creek
Noonday Creek is a U.S. Geological Survey. National Hydrography Dataset high-resolution flowline dataThe National Map accessed April 27, 2011 stream in Cobb and Cherokee counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. The stream begins near Kennesaw Mountain and ends at Lake Allatoona. Noonday is a translation of the native Cherokee language name, referring to the solar noon. Geography Noonday Creek is a tributary of the Little River, joining it within Lake Allatoona just to the north of the Towne Lake development. The confluence of Little River and Noonday Creek now lies beneath the water of the lake. At the northern end of Cobb County, Noonday Creek picks up outflow from the Noonday Water Reclamation Facility, a sewage treatment plant serving Cobb and Cherokee counties. A large sewer line is buried along most of the creek south (upstream) of the plant, seen as a treeless kudzu-covered flood plain, dotted with concrete mounds topped with manholes. Noonday is a city in Smith County, Texas, United States. The population was 612 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Tyler, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Noonday is perhaps best known for the "Noonday Onion," reputed to be one of the sweetest onions available. An onion must be grown within a ten-mile radius of Noonday in order to be considered a "''Noonday Onion''". The "Noonday Onion Festival" is held each year in May. Geography Noonday is located at (32.245210, –95.392567). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km), all land. Noahquageshik
Noahquageshik (1755–1855 or 1770–1840), also spelled Nawehquageezhik, Nawehquageezhig, or Nowgeschick, and better known as Chief Noonday, was a chief of the Grand River Band of Ottawa Nation Native Americans in what would become the U.S. state of Michigan. Biography Noahquageshik spent much of his life in what would become Yankee Springs Township in western Michigan. He was one of the first Native American leaders to establish trade with European settlers in the area. In 1794, he was involved in the Battle of Fallen Timbers, which was the final battle of the Northwest Indian War. During the War of 1812, Noahquageshik was allied with Tecumseh during the Battle of the Thames. Tecumseh was killed in this battle, and Noahquageshik inherited his tomahawk and hat. ''The Last Summer'' is a novella by the Russian writer Boris Pasternak. Originally published in 1934 under the Russian title ''Povest'' (''A Story''), the book relates the reminiscences of Serezha, a young Muscovite spending the winter of 1915-16 with his sister's family in the foothills of the Ural Mountains. Serezha's flashbacks to the summer of 1914, when he worked as a tutor in the house of a wealthy Moscow merchant and associated with various women, form the bulk of the novella.
