Nomis (company)
Nomis is an Australian football shoe manufacturer founded by former Adidas senior vice president Simon Skirrow. It distributes its shoes in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. Skirrow spent five years creating the boots, which are made from kangaroo leather. 'Nomis' is an anagram of 'Simon'. Nomis shoes are specifically developed for improved performance under wet conditions with the use of specially tanned leathers. But it was soon discovered that Skirrow never created any of the technologies and instead they were invented by people in the background. Nomis transitioned to the European market rather dismally in 2009 after taking a large portion of Australia's four football codes boot sales in previous years. Due to the lack of progress and publicity in Europe, Nomis decided to restructure as Pele football, they now have a decent share in the European market, gain far better publicity and still introduce new models in Australasia under Nomis. ...

Stéphane Nomis
Stéphane Nomis born on October 23, 1970, in Versailles, is a former French judoka, member of the French national team from 1990 to 1999, who became an entrepreneur by creating Ippon Technologies. He is also involved in associations, creating the Ippon Foundation to fight against the digital divide. Since November 2020, he has been President of the French Judo Federation. In January 2023, he was promoted to Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur. Sporting career From 1990 to 1999, he trains as a professional judoka at INSEP and is part of the France national team under the direction of René Rambier at the FFJDA, French Federation of Judo. He trains with David Douillet, Djamel Bouras and Larbi Benboudaoud. Syd Nomis
Sydney Nomis (15 November 1941 – 16 June 2018) was a South African national rugby union player who until 2001 held the record for most consecutive matches (25) played for the Springboks. Nomis is best remembered for tries that he scored against France in 1968 and the All Blacks in 1970. Along with Okey Geffin, Nomis is considered one of the greatest Jewish rugby players of all time, and is a member of the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 1999. Early career Nomis played club rugby for Wanderers in Johannesburg, in a league that included Iscor, Diggers, Vanderbijlpark and Police teams. He recalled in a 2008 interview with Dave Gemmell how hard and dirty the game had been.
