Nokian Lukio
Nokian lukio (Nokia Senior High School) is a school located in the town of Nokia, Finland. There are about 415 students and 30 teachers. The principal of the school is Juha Sainio. The school was founded in Ladoga Karelia in the year 1919 as the local school in the town of Jaakkima (''Jaakkiman yhteiskoulu''). The school's work in Jaakkima was interrupted by the Winter War The Winter War,, sv, Vinterkriget, rus, Зи́мняя война́, r=Zimnyaya voyna. The names Soviet–Finnish War 1939–1940 (russian: link=no, Сове́тско-финская война́ 1939–1940) and Soviet–Finland War 1 ... and the school was evacuated March 3, 1940. The school of Jaakkima relocated to Nokia later in 1940. The school has been called Nokian lukio since 1976. The school building was built in Nokia in 1940 and it was renovated in 1998. Nokia, Finland
Nokia () is a town and a municipality on the banks of the Nokianvirta River (part of the Kokemäki River) in the region of Pirkanmaa, some west of Tampere in Finland. The distance to Tampere Airport from Nokia is using road connections when circling Lake Pyhäjärvi. Its neighboring municipalities are Hämeenkyrö, Pirkkala, Sastamala, Tampere, Vesilahti and Ylöjärvi. As of it has a population of and it is one of the fastest-growing cities in the area; today, Nokia is the largest municipality of Finland by population, and the second largest municipality in Pirkanmaa after Tampere. In modern Finnish, ''noki'' means soot and ''nokia'' is its inflected plural, although this form of the word is rarely if ever used. Yakkima (russian: Яккима; fi, Jaakkima) is a rural locality located in Lakhdenpokhsky District of the Republic of Karelia, Russia. History Jaakkima was originally called ''Jaakkimanvaara'' (Jaakkima's hill), first mentioned in 1589 as ''Jacon wara'' in Swedish sources. It became a separate parish in 1647, having been formed from parts of the Kurkijoki, Sortavala and Uukuniemi parishes. The Jaakkima municipality became smaller in the 1920s, as Lumivaara was separated from it in 1923. Lahdenpohja (Lakhdenpokhya) was separated soon after in 1924. As a result of the Winter War Yakkima was ceded to the Soviet Union. Finland occupied Yakkima in the Continuation War in 1941, but the Soviet Union regained the territory in 1944 in accordance with the Moscow Armistice.
