Noel Nelson
Noel Nelson (born 13 April 1967) is a former Irish first-class cricketer. Nelson was born at Banbridge in County Down in April 1967, and was educated at Banbridge Academy. An all-rounder at club level, he played one first-class cricket match for Ireland against Scotland at Edinburgh in 1990. In a drawn match, Nelson batted once and was dismissed without scoring by Craig McKnight. Banbridge ( , ) is a town in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies on the River Bann and the A1 road (Northern Ireland), A1 road and is named after a bridge built over the River Bann in 1712. Northern Knights (cricket Team)
MTB Northern Knights is a first-class provincial cricket team in Ireland. Along with the North West Warriors and Leinster Lightning it makes up the Inter-Provincial Championship, and with those teams and Munster Reds makes up the Interprovincial One-Day Trophy & Interprovincial Twenty20 Cup. The team represents Northern Cricket Union of Ireland which in turn covers most of eastern, southern and much of western Ulster. Seam Bowling
Seam bowling is a bowling technique in cricket whereby the ball is deliberately bowled on to its seam, to cause a random deviation when the ball bounces. Practitioners are known as ''seam bowlers'' or seamers. Seam bowling is generally classed as a subtype of fast bowling, although the bowling speeds at which seam can be a factor include medium-pace bowling. Although there are specialist seamers that make deliberate use of off cutter and leg cutter at the expense of bowling slower than regular fast bowlers, most bowlers employ the seam to some effect and so the terms "seamer" and "fast bowler" are largely synonymous. Craig Thomas McKnight (born 6 September 1969) is a Scottish former first-class cricketer. McKnight was born in September 1969 at Bellshill, Lanarkshire. He was educated at Hutcheson's Grammar School, before matriculating to the University of Strathclyde. A club cricketer for Poloc Cricket Club, McKnight made a single appearance for Scotland in first-class cricket against Ireland at Edinburgh in 1990. Myreside Cricket Ground
Myreside Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Edinburgh, Scotland. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1901 when George Watson's College played Blair Lodge School. The ground held its first first-class match when Scotland played Ireland in 1982, while in 1990 it held a second first-class fixture between the sides. The ground held its first List A match when Scotland played Glamorgan in the 1985 NatWest Trophy. Five further List A matches were played there, the last of which saw Scotland play Worcestershire in the 1993 NatWest Trophy. The ground is still in use today by Watsonians Cricket Club. Alan Norris Nelson (born 22 November 1965) is a former Irish cricketer. Nelson was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium. He was born at Banbridge, County Down, Northern Ireland. He made three further first-class appearances for Ireland between then and 1991, all of which came against Scotland.
