Nocturne (Wild Nothing Album)
''Nocturne'' is the second studio album by American indie rock band Wild Nothing, released on August 28, 2012, by Captured Tracks. Background and recording The success of Wild Nothing's debut allowed Jack Tatum to record in a full studio for its follow-up, a change of pace from ''Geminis exclusive use of the laptop for recording. Working with producer Nicolas Vernhes, Tatum stated: "The biggest thing was just having a producer, having somebody extremely knowledgeable to work with. I mean, obviously I had a lot of nice equipment at my disposal for the first time, too ... But I never wanted to use any of that to pursue a wholly different sound to the first album; it was just nice to have somebody to bounce ideas off, to help me tweak things". Wild Nothing
Wild Nothing is an American indie rock/dream pop band from Blacksburg, Virginia, formed in late 2009 by Jack Tatum. During live performances, Tatum is joined by additional musicians, currently Nic Hessler (guitar), Jeff Haley (bass), Joshua Sushman (keyboards, saxophone) and Cameron Allen (drums). To date, Wild Nothing has released four studio albums, ''Gemini'' (2010), ''Nocturne'' (2012), '' Life of Pause'' (2016) and ''Indigo'' (2018), and three EPs, '' Golden Haze'' (2010), '' Empty Estate'' (2013) and ''Laughing Gas'' (2020). Weighted Mean
The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. The notion of weighted mean plays a role in descriptive statistics and also occurs in a more general form in several other areas of mathematics. If all the weights are equal, then the weighted mean is the same as the arithmetic mean. While weighted means generally behave in a similar fashion to arithmetic means, they do have a few counterintuitive properties, as captured for instance in Simpson's paradox.
