"No Sex for Ben" is a song by American rock band The Rapture, recorded for the soundtrack to the 2008 video game ''Grand Theft Auto IV'' and appearing on the game's fictional Radio Broker radio station. Produced by hip hop producer Timbaland, it is a diss track aimed at DJ Ben Rymer, sung by Matt Safer, the band's bassist. It was placed at number 26 on ''Rolling Stone''s 100 Best Songs of 2008 list. Recording While recording the song with Timbaland at SARM Studios in London, the band was visited by Justin Timberlake and Duran Duran, who were working upstairs on the latter's album ''Red Carpet Massacre'' which was also produced by Timbaland. According to multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Andruzzi, "Next thing we knew, imberlakecame downstairs and was like, ‘Aw shit! This track is great! The Rapture (band)
The Rapture is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 1998. The band currently consists of Luke Jenner (lead vocals, guitar), Vito Roccoforte (drums, percussion), and Gabriel Andruzzi (keyboards, bass, saxophone, percussion). The classic lineup (1999-2009) added Mattie Safer playing bass and sharing lead vocal duties with Jenner. Safer and Jenner's harmonized choruses became part of the signature sound of the band, featuring on several of the band’s more well known songs. The band mix influences from many genres including dance-punk, post-punk, acid house, disco, and electronica. The Fat Truckers were a British electroclash group from Sheffield, comprising Ben Rymer, Mark Hudson and Ross Orton and briefly augmented by Jason Buckle and Ginger Dave as a part-time members. They toured in support of Jarvis Cocker, apparently wielding light sabres on stage and described themselves as writing songs about "cheap motorbikes, import-export business and multiplex cinemas - we're a social comment on modern living" and having a fondness of Henderson's Relish. The band split up in 2004. Orton now works in production with Pulp's Steve Mackey, and has recently worked with M.I.A.
