No Castling Chess
No Castling Chess is a variation of the game of chess invented by the former world chess champion Vladimir Kramnik and thoroughly explored by DeepMind, the team behind AlphaZero. In this variant, every rule is the same as chess, except that castling is not allowed. This variant reduces king safety, theoretically leading to more dynamic games, as it would be considerably harder to force a draw and the pieces would be forced to engage in a mêlée. According to Kramnik, who assisted DeepMind, in exploring this variant, this game helps to sidestep . A chess variant is a game related to, derived from, or inspired by chess. Such variants can differ from chess in many different ways. Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting
The Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting is an open chess tournament held every summer in Dortmund, Germany. Until 2020, Dortmund was an invite-only event, with the exception that one slot at Dortmund was awarded to the winner of the annual Aeroflot Open in Moscow. After an interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was relaunched as the Sparkassen Chess Trophy International Dortmund Chess Days. The elite tournament was usually played in a round-robin tournament, round-robin or double round-robin format. However, it took the form of a series of heads-up matches in 2002 and 2004. Fabiano Luigi Caruana (born July 30, 1992) is an Italian and American chess grandmaster who is the reigning four-time United States Chess Champion. With a peak rating of 2844, Caruana is the third-highest-rated player in history. Born in Miami to Italian parents, Caruana grew up in Brooklyn. A chess prodigy, Caruana played for the United States until 2005, when he transferred his national federation affiliation to Italy. chess24.com was an Internet chess server in English and ten other languages, established in 2014 by German grandmaster Jan Gustafsson and Enrique Guzman. Chess24 also provided live coverage of major international chess tournaments, and hosted their own online tournaments, including the Magnus Carlsen Invitational. In March 2019, chess24 merged with Magnus Carlsen's company Play Magnus AS in a transaction that made the former chess24 owners the largest shareholders in Play Magnus. Viswanathan "Vishy" Anand (born 11 December 1969) is an Indian chess grandmaster.
