Niigata 3rd District
is an electoral district of the Japanese House of Representatives, the lower house of the National Diet. The district was created as part of the move from mult-member districts to single-member districts in the House of Representatives. Muramatsu, Niigata
was a town located in Nakakanbara District, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. On January 1, 2006, Muramatsu was merged into the expanded city of Gosen. Current mail addresses read "Gosen City, Muramatsu" (五泉市村松)to mark the merger. The town existed for several centuries as a feudal domain and independent town. It was famous for its mountain (Mt. Hakusan, approximately 1000 meters tall), the Jikoji Zen Temple, the Sakurando Onsen Hot Spring, and its city park boasting several thousand cherry trees that bloom each year in April. Nakakanbara District, Niigata
was a district located in Niigata Prefecture, Japan. History In 1878, Nakakanbara District was established. The district started to shrink after the town of Nuttari merged with Niigata and the city continued to absorb the district. Three towns later gained city status during a 10-year period: Niitsu in 1951, Gosen in 1954 and Shirane (part of Niigata) in 1959. * On June 1, 1959 - The town of Shirone was elevated to city status to become the city of Shirone. Niigata 1st district (新潟県第1区, Nigata dai-ikku or 新潟1区, Nigata ikku) is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the National Diet of Japan (national legislature), represented by Chinami Nishimura of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan since 2017. It is located in Niigata City, the capital of Niigata Prefecture, and covers central parts of former Niigata City (before 2007). Iwafune District, Niigata
is a district located in Niigata Prefecture, Japan. As of July 1, 2019, the district has an estimated population of 5,644 with a density of 18.2 persons per km2. The total area is 309.39 km2.
