"Night Rider" is a song written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman and originally recorded by Elvis Presley for his album ''Pot Luck with Elvis''. The song was released as a B-side to " Kiss Me Quick" in Europe in 1963. In francophone Belgium, "Night Rider" was listed as a double A-side with "Kiss Me Quick", reaching number 29. Later, the song was used for the soundtrack for Elvis' 1965 film '' Tickle Me'' and included on the accompanying soundtrack EP as well. Composition The song was written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman. Millie Kirkham
Millie Kirkham (born Mildred Eakes; June 24, 1923 – December 14, 2014) was an American singer who was featured on many classic hit recordings from the mid-1950s through the 1980s. Early life Kirkham was born Mildred Eakes in Hermitage, Tennessee. She performed in high school bands in the early 1940s before graduating to session work. Millie was known as the "Nashville soprano" on numerous hit records and became affectionately known as the fifth member of the Jordanaires. Homer Louis "Boots" Randolph III (June 3, 1927 – July 3, 2007) was an American musician best known for his 1963 saxophone hit "Yakety Sax" (which became Benny Hill's signature tune). Randolph was a major part of the "Nashville sound" for most of his professional career. Biography Randolph was born in Paducah, Kentucky, United States, and raised in Cadiz, Kentucky, attending high school in Evansville, Indiana. As a child, he learned to play music with his family's band. He was not sure where or why he acquired the nickname "Boots", although it may have served to avoid confusion since his father and he had the same first name. Floyd Cramer (October 27, 1933 – December 31, 1997) was an American pianist who became famous for his use of melodic "half step" attacks. He was inducted into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His signature playing style was a cornerstone of the pop-oriented "Nashville sound" of the 1950s and 1960s.
