The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) is an umbrella organization for engineers in Nigeria. It was founded on 16 February 1958 by a group of young Nigerian Graduate Engineers and students in the United Kingdom and inaugurated at the Nigerian House in London. NSE is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission Corporate Affairs Commission is a body of the Nigerian Government responsible for the regulation and management of companies in Nigeria. Mayen Adetiba (born 1954) is a Nigerian actress and civil engineer. Life Adetiba was born in 1954 in Nigeria. She initially wanted to be an accountant, but she then got interested in journalism. She worked on ''The Bar Beach Show'' and she was Lakunle Ojo's wife in the '' Village Headmaster''. She was in ''Kongi's Harvest'' which went out in 1980. She went to the US for her university education where she had to work as her parents could not send her money because of export restrictions. She was briefly at New York University before she transferred to Columbia University studying electrical engineering. She was told that civil engineering may be more appreciated in Africa so she decided to switch disciplines. Ifedayo Akintunde
Robert Ifedayo Akintunde (born 2 November 1935) is a Nigerian engineer, a distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and former President of the society. He was the first African to win the WFEO Medal of Engineering Excellence after doing so in 2017. Akintunde is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK), and a Chartered Engineer of the U.K. since 1965. He was registered by Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria in 1974. Career Akintunde began his career in the United Kingdom with some engineering consulting firms before taking up an appointment with the then-Western State Ministry of Works and Transport.
