Niebla, Spain
Niebla is a town and municipality located in the province of Huelva, in Andalusia, southern Spain. It lies on the banks of the Rio Tinto, 30 km from Huelva and 60 km from Seville. According to the 2008 census, it has a population of 4,200 inhabitants. A 2-km town wall surrounds the perimeter of the town. The Alcazar or castle dates mostly from the 15th century. Just outside the town a Roman bridge, still in use today, crosses the Rio Tinto. History Niebla's history dates back 3,000 years. The town's early importance was due to the silver industry, exploited by Phoenician traders by the 8th century B.C. The town was a commercial and political centre known as ''Ilipla'' in Roman times. By 713 the town of Ilipla was under Muslim control. The town became part of the emirate of Cordoba in 756 and further fortifications were constructed. Taifa Of Niebla
The Taifa of Niebla () was an Arab taifa kingdom that existed during three distinct time periods: from 1023 to 1053, from 1145 to 1150 and from 1234 to 1262. From 1053 until 1091 it was under the forcible control of Taifa of Seville, by Abbad II al-Mu'tadid. It was finally conquered by the Crown of Castile. In 1262 it was eventually absorbed by Castile. Niebla, Chile
Niebla (Spanish for ''fog'') is a coastal Chilean town close to the city of Valdivia, Valdivia Province, Los Ríos Region. Niebla is located on the northern edge, at the mouth of the Valdivia River, across from Corral. Niebla's beach and folk market are popular tourist destinations during the summer, together with the ruins of a Spanish colonial fort and its museum. Ruben Niebla
Ruben O. Niebla (born December 19, 1971), is an American former professional baseball pitcher and current pitching coach for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He formerly served as the assistant pitching coach for the Cleveland Indians. Career Niebla attended Calexico High School in Calexico, California and Azusa Pacific University. A pitcher, Niebla played in minor league baseball from 1995 to 2000 with teams in the Montreal Expos and Los Angeles Dodgers organizations and in independent baseball leagues. Niebla was with the Cleveland Indians Organization since 2001, as a coach at multiple levels of the organization. In 2010, he was a Major League Coaching Assistant for the Indians. On August 9, 2012, the Cleveland Indians fired pitching coach Scott Radinsky and named Niebla the interim pitching coach for the remainder of the 2012 season. ''Niebla'' is a genus of abelisaurid theropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous Period (Campanian-Maastrichtian) of Río Negro province, Argentina. The genus contains a single species, ''Niebla antiqua'', and is known from a partial, non-articulated skeleton. The holotype, found in the Allen Formation, represents an adult individual. Discovery and naming The holotype, MPCN-PV-796, was found near Matadero Hill, south of General Roca, Río Negro province, Argentina. The fossil material includes a near-complete braincase, fragmentary jaw and teeth, relatively complete scapulocoracoid, dorsal ribs and incomplete vertebrae. The genus name ''Niebla'' comes from the Spanish word for "mist", referring to the foggy days during the excavation of the fossil. ''Mist'' ( es, Niebla) is a novel written by Miguel de Unamuno in 1907 and first published in 1914 by Editorial Renacimiento. Entitled as ''Fog. A novel'' in a translation by Elena Barcia published by Northwestern University Press in 2017. Plot summary The plot revolves around the character of Augusto, a wealthy, intellectual and introverted young man. He falls in love with a young woman named Eugenia as she walks past him on the street, and he sets about trying to court her. He is aided in his efforts by the other members of Eugenia's household. Her Aunt Ermelinda is particularly keen for a relationship to evolve, so that Augusto might help with her niece's financial troubles. Nevertheless, Eugenia rejects his advances, since she is already in a relationship with the down-and-out Mauricio.
