Nicolò D'Amico (rugby Union)
Nicolò D'Amico (born 20 October 1993) is an Italian rugby union player, currently playing for Top10 (rugby union), Serie A Elite side Petrarca Padova. He was also a permit player for the Pro14 side Zebre. His preferred position is Prop (rugby union), prop. Zebre Under contract with Rugby Calvisano, Calvisano, D'Amico was announced as an ''additional player'' for Zebre in June 2021. He made his Zebre debut in Round 5 of the Pro14 Rainbow Cup competition against . He played with Rugby Calvisano, Calvisano in Top12, Top10 from 2020−2021 to 2022−2023 season. The United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual rugby union competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. The current name was adopted in 2021 when the league expanded to include four South African teams previously from the SANZAR Super Rugby competition. The league is one of the three major professional leagues in Europe (along with the English Premiership and the French Top 14), the most successful teams from which go forward to compete in the European Rugby Champions Cup. Since 2022–23, despite the name, South African teams have been eligible to qualify for European competition, and one South African place is guaranteed. The Pro14 Rainbow Cup (also known as the Guinness Pro14 Rainbow Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a professional rugby union end-of-season cup competition played in 2021 that consisted of two separate tournaments: the Rainbow Cup for twelve European clubs and the Rainbow Cup SA for four South African clubs. The winners of each competition then played a final match to determine the overall winner. The tournament operated as a shortened 'Spring season' to allow for the integration of the four new South African teams into the United Rugby Championship ahead of the 2021–22 season. Prop (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs.
