Nicole Elaine Romeo (born 29 August 1989) is an Australian-Italian basketball player. College Romeo played one season of college basketball at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington for the Huskies. Career Australia In 2009, Romeo was a member of the Sandringham Sabres team in the SEABL. In 2010 and 2011, Romeo was a member of the Rockhampton Cyclones in the Queensland Basketball League. In 2011, she was the league's season MVP. In 2013, Romeo was a member of the Frankston Blues team in the SEABL. Romeo would return to the SEABL for the 2015, 2016 & 2017 seasons with Nunawading, Warrandyte & Sandringham respectively. WNBL Romeo first played in the WNBL for the Canberra Capitals in 2009. The Adelaide Lightning is an Australian professional women's basketball team competing in the Women's National Basketball League ( WNBL). The club is based in the city of Adelaide, South Australia. Kristi Harrower (born 4 March 1975) is an Australian professional basketball player, who three times (2000, 2004 and 2008) won the silver medal with the Australian Women's Team at the Summer Olympics, and also the bronze in 2012. She played in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) from 1998 to 2005 for the Phoenix Mercury and Minnesota Lynx. Bendigo Spirit is one of three Victorian basketball teams in the Australian Women's National Basketball League. The team, based in the regional city of Bendigo, Victoria, joined the competition from the 2007/08 season. History The Bendigo Spirit were formed in 2007 and started playing out of Bendigo Stadium, the first side based in regional Victoria. The Melbourne Boomers are an Australian professional basketball team based in Melbourne, Victoria. The Boomers compete in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) and play the majority of their home games at Melbourne Sports Centre – Parkville and the State Basketball Centre. The South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL) was an Australian semi-professional basketball league. The league comprised both a men's and women's competition and was run by the country's governing body, Basketball Australia. The league was one and the same with the Australian Basketball Association (ABA) from its inception in 1981 until 1993.
