Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman (born September 18, 1984, in New York City) is an American professional poker player and commentator. Early life Schulman grew up in New York City, and began playing pool at the famous Amsterdam Billiards. He was mentored by several of the best players in the NYC area from ages 13–19, at which point his focus switched to poker. Poker career Schulman began to play poker in 2002, at the age of 18, and by the age of 19 went professional. In 2005, at the age of 21, he won the fourth season World Poker Tour (WPT) World Poker Finals poker tournament, winning $2,167,500, a record for a regular season event on the WPT. He also became the youngest winner of a WPT event. Less than a month later, Schulman finished 4th in the World Series of Poker circuit event in Atlantic City, winning an additional $74,495. High Stakes Poker
''High Stakes Poker'' is an American cash game poker television program. The poker variant played on the show is no limit Texas hold 'em. The first four seasons ran from January 16, 2006 to December 17, 2007 on GSN. The next three seasons ran from March 1, 2009 to May 21, 2011, and was simulcast in 3DTV on N3D. The show was revived on December 16, 2020 on PokerGO. The show was hosted by A. J. Benza in the first five seasons, alongside Gabe Kaplan. In the sixth season, Kara Scott replaced Benza as Kaplan's co-host, with Scott conducting interviews from the poker room floor. The 2019 World Series of Poker was the 50th annual tournament, and took place from May 28 – July 16, 2019 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. There were 90 bracelet events. To celebrate the 50th WSOP there was a $50,000 No Limit Hold'em event as well as the Big 50, a $500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event with a guaranteed $5 million prize pool and $1 million for the winner. There was also a tournament open only to past WSOP bracelet winners. A short deck tournament was also held for the first time. All No Limit Hold'em events employed the Big Blind Ante format. The $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event began on July 3 and concluded on July 16.
