Nicholas Moore (16 November 1918 – 26 January 1986) was an English poet, associated with the New Apocalyptics in the 1940s, whose reputation stood as high as Dylan Thomas’s. He later dropped out of the literary world. Biography Moore was born in Cambridge, England, the elder child of the philosopher G. E. Moore and Dorothy Ely. His paternal uncle was the poet, artist and critic Thomas Sturge Moore, his maternal grandfather was OUP editor and author George Herbert Ely and his brother was the composer Timothy Moore (1922–2003). He was educated at the Dragon School in Oxford, Leighton Park School in Reading, the University of St Andrews, and Trinity College, Cambridge. Nicholas Ruxton Moore (July 21, 1756October 7, 1816) was a U.S. Representative from Maryland. Born near Baltimore in the Province of Maryland, Moore attended the common schools. He served as a member of Gist's Baltimore Independent Cadets and served throughout the greater part of the Revolutionary War, attaining the rank of captain. Nicholas A. Moore (born June 25, 1986) is a former professional Canadian football wide receiver who played for seven years in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the BC Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He was originally signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He played college football at Toledo. He is best known as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of the ''Billboard'' charting band Before Their Eyes on Rise Records. Nicholas More (died 1689) was first chief justice of the colonial-era Province of Pennsylvania. Early life and education More, also spelled "Moore" or "Moor", was born in London, England, where he married his wife Mary. In 1682, More immigrated to the Thirteen Colonies alongwith with William Penn, and lived in the colonial-era Province of Pennsylvania. More was trained in London as a medical physician, but he did not engage in that profession after immigrating to British America. Soon after settling in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia, he set up "The Free Society of Traders", and became its president. Along with other English merchants, More obtained a parcel of land including just under ten thousand (9,815) acres from Penn for the society in 1684, which became known as the Manor of Moreland. Nicholas Robert Moore (born December 9, 1992) is an American football long snapper for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He played professional baseball in the Boston Red Sox organization before playing college football at Georgia. Baseball career Moore spent four seasons in the minor league system of the Boston Red Sox after being drafted in the 30th round of the 2011 MLB draft out of high school.
