Nicholas Darnell Cole (born July 28, 1984) is a former American football guard and center. He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He played college football at New Mexico State. College career Cole played college football at New Mexico State. Professional career Philadelphia Eagles After going undrafted in the 2006 NFL Draft, Cole signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent. He was named the third-string center behind Jamaal Jackson and Hank Fraley. He was later promoted to second string when Fraley was traded to the Cleveland Browns. He was also inserted as a fullback on short yardage and goal line situations. Besides being listed as a center, Cole is used as the primary backup at both guard positions. He was the lead blocker on many plays that went for touchdowns during the 2006 season. Cole started in place of Max Jean-Gilles when he was placed on injured reserve in 2008. Formula F100
The Formula F100 was a racing class in 1970 and 1971. The class was open to lightweight sports cars powered by a 1300cc engine (usually a Ford Kent engine or 1300cc BMC engine). History The Formula F100 was launched by Geoff Clarke and the Motor Racing Stables racing school. Clarke also launched Formula Ford and thought that Formula F100 could be the sports car racing equivalent. The British press gave the F100 a far from warm welcome. The press feared the class would rival the popular Clubmans. The first season was dominated by Ray Allen driving a Royale RP4. The car was first powered by a Ford Kent engine. But when Nick Cole became the faster driver in a BMC powered Nerus Silhouette, Allen quickly changed engines. Former Formula 1 driver Les Leston came out of retirement to race in the series. Sir Nicholas Cole, 1st Baronet (died 1660) was an English Royalist during the English Civil War. Cole was the son of Ralph Cole, who had purchased Brancepeth Castle in 1633. On 4 March 1640 Cole was created a baronet, of Brancepeth in the Baronetage of England by Charles I. He served as Mayor of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1640 and 1641 and played a prominent role in the defence of the city during the seven-month Siege of Newcastle The siege of Newcastle (3 February 1644 – 27 October 1644) occurred during the First English Civil War, when a Covenanter army under the command of Lord General Alexander Leslie, 1st Earl of Leven besieged the Royalist garrison under ... in 1644. Cole Baronets
There have been two baronetcies created for people named Cole, one in the Baronetage of England and one in the Baronetage of Ireland. The Cole Baronetcy, of Brancepeth Castle, in the County of Durham was created on 4 March 1640 in the Baronetage of England for Nicholas Cole, Mayor of Newcastle upon Tyne 1640 and 1641. He was an ardent Royalist who played a key part in the defence of Newcastle, which withstood a seven-month siege by Parliamentary forces in 1644. The Baronetcy became extinct on the death of the 4th Baronet, Sir Mark Cole of Brancepeth, in 1727. The Cole Baronetcy, of Newland, in the County of Dublin was created on 23 January 1661 for John Cole. His son Arthur was elevated to Baron Ranelagh in 1715.
