Newport West () is one of two United Kingdom constituencies, parliamentary constituencies for the city of Newport, Wales, Newport, South Wales, in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament (MP) using the first-past-the-post voting system. Paul Flynn (politician), Paul Flynn, of the Labour Party (UK), Labour Party, was the MP from the 1987 United Kingdom general election, 1987 general election until his death on 17 February 2019. Consequently, a 2019 Newport West by-election, by-election was held in the constituency on Thursday 4 April 2019. It is currently represented by Ruth Jones (politician), Ruth Jones.
