Newcastle Coach Station
Newcastle Coach Station is a coach station located in Newcastle upon Tyne. It opened in 2003, as a replacement for the former Gallowgate Coach Station. The coach station is located on Churchill Street, and is a short walk from Newcastle Central railway station. It is one of three bus stations in the city centre – the others being Eldon Square and Haymarket. The coach station has five bays, with facilities including a booking office, waiting room, seating and toilet facilities. A taxi rank is available on Churchill Street. Above the bays is a translucent curved canopy roof, with a glazed block screen wall. Newcastle Coach Station is served mainly by National Express, however, it is also used by a number of independent operators – including JH Coaches and Wright Bros. of Alston. Eldon Square Bus Station
Eldon Square Bus Station is one of two bus stations serving Newcastle City Centre. It is owned by Newcastle City Council and is managed by Nexus. The new glass-roofed bus station was built adjacent to the old bus station, on a former access road, and is accessible via the new mall. It is located in the Haymarket area of the city centre, a short walk from Newcastle University and Northumbria University. It offers a connection with services from Haymarket Bus Station and Haymarket Metro Station. It is attached to, and accessible from Eldon Square Shopping Centre, which links the bus station with the Northumberland Street and Monument areas of the city. Haymarket Bus Station
Haymarket bus station is a bus station located in the Haymarket area of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is situated next to the Haymarket Metro station, by the northern end of Northumberland Street and almost adjacent to Newcastle University. History The original bus station opened in 1930 and was rebuilt in 1971. It was completely rebuilt again, on a slightly different site, in 1996. This second rebuild was due to the expansion of the nearby Marks & Spencer shop, necessitating the demolition of a number of properties. The opportunity was taken to enlarge the bus station from 9 to 13 stands. Alston, Cumbria
Alston is a town in Cumbria, England, within the civil parish of Alston Moor on the River South Tyne. Newcastle City Library
Newcastle City Library (also known as the Charles Avison Building) is a library in the city centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. Completed on 3 March 2009, the building opened on 7 June 2009, and is the city's main public library. The main feature of the building is a long 'glass box' forming the eastern side of the steel frame structure.
