UCI Road World Championships
The UCI Road World Championships are the annual world championships for bicycle road racing organized by the (UCI). The UCI Road World Championships consist of events for road race and individual time trial, and a mixed team relay. Events All the world championship events are ridden by national teams, not trade teams such as in most other major races. The winner of each category is entitled to wear the rainbow jersey in races of that category (either mass start or time trial) until the next championships. Tissot Timing
Tissot SA () is a Swiss watchmaker. The company was founded in Le Locle, Switzerland by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son, Charles-Émile Tissot, in 1853. After several mergers and name changes, the group which Tissot SA belonged to was renamed the Swatch Group in 1998. Tissot is not associated with Mathey-Tissot, another Swiss watchmaking firm. History Independent company Tissot was founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile Tissot in the Swiss city of Le Locle, in the Neuchâtel canton of the Jura Mountains area. The father and son team worked as a casemaker (Charles-Félicien Tissot) and watchmaker (Charles-Emile). His son having expressed an interest in watchmaking from a young age. Team Time Trial
A team time trial (TTT) is a road bicycle race in which teams of cyclists race against the clock (see individual time trial for a more detailed description of ITT events). The winning team in a TTT is determined by the comparing the times of (usually) the fourth-finishing rider in each team (though the relevant finish position can be otherwise specified in advance by the race organisers). This means that each team will try to get their first four (at least) riders across the finish line in a tight group: it is actually a disadvantage for any rider to finish far in advance of the fourth rider, as by staying back a faster rider can help the fourth rider to get a quicker time. Where a TTT is part of a stage race, it is necessary for each rider to be given a finish time that can be cumulated into the general classification timings. Niamh Fisher-Black
Niamh Fisher-Black (born 12 August 2000) is a New Zealand professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . She is the older sister of fellow racing cyclist Finn Fisher-Black, and was educated at Nelson College for Girls. Career 2022 Fisher-Black paid her own way to the 2022 road cycling world championships in Wollongong, Australia as Cycling New Zealand could not afford to meet the costs due to due "a lack of government funding and the loss of key sponsors". In the 164 km road race, she was the first placed under-23 rider and 12th overall. She became the first under-23 world women's champion. 2022 UCI Road World Championships
The 2022 UCI Road World Championships will be held from 18 to 25 September 2022 in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. In February 2022 the UCI announced that a Women's U23 category will be added to the road and time trial race. The title will be awarded from within the elite women’s event and a separate race will be added from 2025 UCI Road World Championships, 2025. On March 1 AusCycling announced that Russian and Belarusian teams will not be allowed to compete based on International Olympic Committee's recommendation on 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. 2015 UCI Road World Championships – Women's Time Trial
The Women's time trial of the 2015 UCI Road World Championships took place in and around in Richmond, Virginia, United States on September 22, 2015. The course of the race is with the start and finish in Richmond. Lisa Brennauer was the defending champion, after winning her first world time trial title in 2014. New Zealand's Linda Villumsen won her first world title, after five previous medal finishes, by 2.54 seconds ahead of Anna van der Breggen of the Netherlands, while defending champion Brennauer finished in the bronze medal position, 5.26 seconds behind Villumsen. Australia's Katrin Garfoot finished just off the podium in fourth, 9.32 seconds off the winning time. Ellen van Dijk, one of the favorites, finished disappointingly seventh. 2013 UCI Road World Championships – Women's Time Trial
The Women's time trial of the 2013 UCI Road World Championships took place on 24 September 2013 in the region of Tuscany, Italy. The course of the race was 22.05 km from Parco delle Cascine to the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence. 2013 UCI Road World Championships
The 2013 UCI Road World Championships took place in Tuscany, Italy, between 22 and 29 September 2013. The Championships consisted of 12 events for elite, under-23 and junior cyclists. It was the 86th Road World Championships, the 13th in Italy and the first time that the event took place in Tuscany. The different events finished near the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence. Host cities for the starts were Florence, Pistoia, Lucca and Montecatini Terme. Marketing Tickets for crucial points of the course in Florence and Fiesole could be bought in advance. The Women's time trial of the 2012 UCI Road World Championships cycling event took place on 18 September 2012 in and around Valkenburg aan de Geul, Valkenburg, Netherlands. Judith Arndt of Germany defended successfully her world time trial title. The 36-year-old, who retired at the end of the championships, completed the hilly course in a time of 32 minutes 26 seconds to beat former teammate Evelyn Stevens (cyclist), Evelyn Stevens of the United States by 33 seconds. Stevens had been the seventh last to start, and her time of 33 minutes dead took the lead from teammate Ellen van Dijk of the Netherlands.
