The New Zealand cricket team toured Australia from early December 1913 to late January 1914, playing four first-class matches against state teams and five other matches. The team Three of New Zealand’s leading batsmen, David Collins, Harold Lusk and Arthur Sims, were unavailable. The provincial cricket associations were asked to submit the names of suitable players from their regions. New Zealand Cricket Team
The New Zealand national cricket team represents New Zealand in men's international cricket. Named the Black Caps, they played their first Test in 1930 against England in Christchurch, becoming the fifth country to play Test cricket. From 1930 New Zealand had to wait until 1956, more than 26 years, for its first Test victory, against the West Indies at Eden Park in Auckland. They played their first ODI in the 1972–73 season against Pakistan in Christchurch. Kane Williamson is the current captain of the team in T20I’s, Tim Southee is the current test captain as Kane Williamson stepped downs as captain in December 2022. Henry Tattersall
Henry James Tattersall (21 December 1892 – 5 November 1971) was a New Zealand cricketer. He played six matches of first-class cricket for Auckland and Wellington between 1913 and 1928. He toured Australia with the New Zealand team in 1913-14 as the second wicket-keeper, but did not play in any of the four first-class matches against state teams. Before World War I he worked as an engineer in an Auckland foundry. During the war he served overseas in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force as a sergeant. After the war he settled on 557 acres at Akitio which he had been granted after a ballot under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act. In April 1921 he married Muriel Childs. They had a son in 1922 but separated soon afterwards and divorced in 1927. He moved to Wellington. Charlie Kelleway
Charles Kelleway (25 April 1886 – 16 November 1944) was an Australian cricketer who played in 26 Test matches between 1910 and 1928. In 1911/12, he played against the MCC touring-team captained by Plum Warner. In the Test-series, he took a total of only 6 wickets at 41.50. However, in the Triangular tournament of 1912 in England, he was more successful and made 360 runs in Australia's six Tests, with 114 at Manchester and 102 at Lord's, both against South Africa. He also had the best bowling of 5/33 in an innings. He served as a captain in the Australian Army during World War I and was the first captain of the Australian Imperial Force Touring XI that toured Great Britain in 1919, until he was removed following a dispute. Alan Marshal (cricketer)
Alan Marshal (12 June 1883 – 23 July 1915) was a cricketer who played first-class cricket for Queensland and for Surrey County Cricket Club. Marshal was a hard-hitting middle-order batsman and a fast-medium bowler who got some spin off the pitch. He was 6 ft 3 ins in height. Biography Marshal was educated and played cricket for South Brisbane State School and Brisbane Grammar School, later progressing to club cricket, playing for South Brisbane and with Paddington in Sydney. Marshal had played just eleven games for Queensland – at that time not part of the Sheffield Shield competition – when he arrived in England in 1905. He proceeded to make more than 2,700 runs in club cricket, principally for W. G. Grace's London County Cricket Club, and also played a few first-class matches for amateur teams.
