New York Athletic Club is an American women’s soccer team, founded in 2005. The team is a member of the Women's Premier Soccer League, the second tier of women’s soccer in the United States and Canada. The team plays in the North Division of the East Conference. The team plays its home games at the New York Athletic Club on Travers Island in Pelham Manor, New York. The club's colors are red and blue. The team has a brother organization called the New York Athletic Club, which plays in the National Premier Soccer League. New York Athletic Club
The New York Athletic Club is a private social club and athletic club in New York state. Founded in 1868, the club has approximately 8,600 members and two facilities: the City House, located at 180 Central Park South in Manhattan, and Travers Island, located in Westchester County. Membership in the club is by invitation only. The club offers many sports, including rowing, wrestling, boxing, judo, fencing, swimming, basketball, rugby union, soccer, tennis, handball, squash, snooker, lacrosse and water polo. Locations City House, located at 180 Central Park South, is the club's headquarters in Midtown Manhattan. Completed in 1929, City House is a 24-story building which offers panoramic views of Central Park. 2010 National Women's Cup
The 2010 USASA National Women's Cup was the 15th edition of the annual national soccer championship, won by the previous season's runners-up New York Athletic Club (NYAC). They beat Dallas Premier 2-0 in overtime in the final. Regional Phase Region I NYAC beat Danubia in the final, with Vereinigung Erzebirge and the Peninsula Aztecs as the losing semifinalists. Quarterfinalists included PA West United, the Philadelphia United German-Hungarians, and the Partizan Richmond Ladies. Region II Region II was decided by a five-team round-robin, with the Kentucky Wanderers edging out both J.B. Marine S.C. and the Croatian Eagles on a goal-differential tiebreaker. Kim Wyant
Kimberly Wyant (born February 11, 1964) is an American soccer coach and retired player. She is the head coach of the New York University men's soccer team, currently, one of only two women to lead a men's NCAA National Collegiate Athletic Association soccer program (the other being Julianne Sitch at the University of Chicago). Since her appointment as coach of NYU, she has led them to postseason play in every season except one, including two NCAA National soccer championship tournaments. She is currently the head coach for the Brooklyn City FC women's soccer team, and also coached the NYAC (New York Athletic Club) to the 2014 United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) Amateur Women's National Championship. The USASA National Women's Amateur is an American women's soccer tournament run by the United States Adult Soccer Association. It began in 1980 and was the top-level national tournament for women's soccer in the United States until the formation of the Women's Open in 1996. USASA National Women's Cup
The USASA National Women's Open is an American women's soccer tournament run by the United States Adult Soccer Association. It began in 1996, and from 2009 to 2012 it was known as the Women's Cup. Before the formation of the Women's Open, the Women's Amateur was the top national cup competition. Historically, it has only been contested by amateur and semi-pro teams, as teams from professional leagues (WUSA, WPS, and the NWSL) are not allowed to enter the competition. In 2012 though, the Chicago Red Stars, a professional club in the WPSL Elite, entered and won the competition. Similarly, the professional Houston Aces of WPSL won in 2013. The defending Women's Cup champions are Olympic Club, who won the title over the ASA Chesapeake Charge after beating the Charge 2–0 in the final game day of the 2015 round robin group.
