New York's 35th State Senate District
New York's 35th State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. It has been represented by Democrat Andrea Stewart-Cousins, the current Senate Majority Leader, since 2007. Geography District 35 covers a portion of southern Westchester County, including all of Greenburgh and Scarsdale and parts of Yonkers, White Plains, and New Rochelle. The New York State Assembly is the lower house of the New York State Legislature, with the New York State Senate being the upper house. There are 150 seats in the Assembly. The 2012 United States Senate election in New York took place on November 6, 2012, concurrently with the U.S. presidential election as well as other elections to the United States Senate and House of Representatives as well as various state and local elections. Incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand won re-election to her first full term.
