New York's 31st State Senate District
New York's 31st State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. It has been represented by Democrat Robert Jackson since 2019. Jackson defeated IDC-aligned incumbent Marisol Alcántara in the 2018 primary election, following primary losses for the same seat in 2014 and 2016. Geography District 31 is based in the northern Manhattan neighborhoods of Washington Heights, Inwood, and Marble Hill, also stretching south along the Hudson River to include parts of Hamilton Heights, Harlem, Morningside Heights, the Upper West Side, Hell's Kitchen, and Chelsea. Guillermo Linares is a former Democratic member of the New York State Assembly who had represented the 72nd Assembly District in Manhattan from 2015 to 2016, and previously from 2011 to 2013. Adriano de Jesús Espaillat Rodríguez (; born September 27, 1954) is a Dominican-American politician. He is the U.S. representative for and the first Dominican American and first formerly undocumented immigrant to ever serve in Congress. Julia Willebrand is an American environmental, peace and education activist and was the Green Party nominee for the office of Comptroller of the State of New York in the 2006 New York state elections. Biography Julia was born in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, and currently resides in Manhattan.
